My opinion-one of the top 5 metal albums of all time. Such an amazing masterpiece.

Who else thinks so?

seconded. After I got this record I think I just left it on continuous loop for about a week. One of a very few that I absolutely can't get tired of.

their best IMO.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Sep 15,2007 1:32pm
I also agree that Symbolic is Death's best work.

toggletoggle post by Aegathis  at Sep 15,2007 1:34pm
me too

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile-nli at Sep 15,2007 2:38pm
I agree also, it's the most mature album, I still love the older stuff, and Sound of Perseverance was fantastic, but Symbolic was what finally gave me the ambition to play the guitar as more then just a hobby.

toggletoggle post by mortalis  at Sep 15,2007 2:48pm
human ftw

toggletoggle post by Whoremastery  at Sep 15,2007 2:52pm
im gonna have to go with human

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile-nli at Sep 15,2007 2:54pm
Human's great, so's Leprosy, but Symbolic was more mature, Human was the turning point for Death as a band, and for that I hold it with the utmost respect, but Symbolic just did it for me, even better then Individual Thought Patterns and Human.

it's a pretty good album. i played the fuck out of it and don't want to hear it for another 16 years.

human and spiritual healing. symbolic was awesome, but i think those two blow it out of the water.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Sep 15,2007 3:07pm
is there a box set available?

toggletoggle post by craig nli at Sep 15,2007 3:18pm
that would be very awesome

toggletoggle post by Murph  at Sep 15,2007 3:54pm
Individual Thought Patterns is my favorite.

The songs and cute percussion for the win!

toggletoggle post by blue  at Sep 15,2007 3:56pm
just but this album on to celebrate how awesome it is.

toggletoggle post by fleshfries at Sep 15,2007 5:32pm
symbolic is definitely one of my all time favorite albums....easily

toggletoggle post by Ryan_M at Sep 15,2007 9:51pm
This was the album that I was introduced to Death with back in 2000-2001 when I was in high school. I liked it then, I love it now. Definitly one of Chuck's best works.

toggletoggle post by I_am_not_me   at Sep 15,2007 11:49pm
Human was my introduction to Death and probably my favorite, but Symbolic still rules. Fuck, all Death rules.

toggletoggle post by Immortal13 on someone else's comp at Sep 16,2007 11:38am
Someone should get in touch with death's old label and tell them to put out a box set, especially with a bunch of memorial pics of Chuck, and definitely rare and unreleased tracks.

I'm not a big fan of Scream Bloody Gore, Leprosy was good, Spiritual Healing was great, Human was awesome, Individual Thought Patterns was amazing, Symbolic is the best, and Sounds of Preserverance was also great.

This thread is making me wanna start a Death cover band. Anyone else down?

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Sep 16,2007 1:51pm
my favorite death album

toggletoggle post by BornSoVile   at Sep 16,2007 3:30pm
Spiritual Healing is my favorite but Symbolic is clearly their best album.

toggletoggle post by neverpurified  at Sep 16,2007 3:41pm
I just wish Steve Digiorgio was on this record, his fretless lines were amazing on Human, Individual, and the Control Denied record

x = a(b+c)

if x = death, and values of a,b, and c are respectively: progenitors of death metal, best band ever, classy.

PROVEN WITH SCIENCE

very talented but also overated album. gone is the "death" metal sound on this one and now a progressive metal album. the title track is the best song and maybe 1 or 2 others I like.
