Brutal death metal mixed with metalcore has been around a lot longer than WtC. It finally started to die out until they came around though. Now it's all hyped out again.

There are no straight up slam/groove brutal death bands anymore though. The only way you can hear that shit now is in a band that dresses in womens' jeans and mixes it with metalcore riffs. :(
