toggletoggle post by pam   at May 15,2007 9:40pm

It is, they copied the dashboard from Apple.

toggletoggle post by DeRtOxIa   at May 15,2007 9:53pm
i actually sorta like vista. there's a whole bunch of stuff you can do to make it run faster. straight outta the box it's gonna be slower than xp but if you tweak it then it'll work fine. just the fact that the desktop is rendered in 3d puts it miles ahead of xp.

i really dont think its such a big deal if microsoft borrowed some ideas from apples product but they are huge hypocrites when they threaten to sue linux "companies".

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at May 15,2007 10:00pm
you know u can also install os x on that shit now aswell. i hear getting things working can be tricky depending on your hardware but the system is stable once set up.

toggletoggle post by pam   at May 15,2007 10:02pm
I will never own an Apple because I fucking hate their commercials.

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at May 15,2007 10:02pm
wasted.. on the g4 u have get this program called cocktail... it does some system maintenace you can do via terminal and stuff but it makes it easier. just google it. its good shit. leave the cron stuff alone in it tho unless u know how to work it.

toggletoggle post by hailthebrutality at May 15,2007 10:38pm
Buy a fucking MAC, PC's are a waste of time.

toggletoggle post by pam   at May 15,2007 10:38pm
I'm perfectly happy with my PC. Fuck MACs.

toggletoggle post by secthammer at May 15,2007 11:12pm
i'll never have a MAC probably unless working in audio forces me to have one, but not being able to right click...so unnerving!

toggletoggle post by thegreatspaldino   at May 15,2007 11:13pm

just get a usb mouse with 2 buttons and right click it automatically maps the second button to a "right click"

toggletoggle post by ZJD   at May 16,2007 11:49am
Apple's standard mouse is actually a right and left click mouse now.

toggletoggle post by babyshaker nli at May 16,2007 1:17pm

toggletoggle post by Niccolai   at May 16,2007 1:24pm
I won't own a mac because I don't support hash-smoking hippie companies.

toggletoggle post by metal_church101  at May 16,2007 1:24pm
Wasted, did you uninstall all the trial shit software that comes pre-loaded with Vista?

Create your recovery disks (unless it is a TOshiba laoptop) so you can go back to Vista incase trying to load XP doesn't work.

I've heard of a few people trying to load XP on new systems and had a shit load of problems with drivers and the works.

Also, vista will always run rather slow with only 1GB of Ram (like running XP with only 512MB.)

toggletoggle post by thegreatspaldino   at May 16,2007 1:27pm
i run xp with only 512 and its fine.

toggletoggle post by Niccolai   at May 16,2007 1:30pm
I'm pretty sure my computer only has a 256 ram stick and it works fine as long as I don't make it multi task or work on images above 300dpi.

toggletoggle post by metal_church101  at May 16,2007 1:34pm
It depends on how much multi-tasking you do in xp and how much shit you installed (even if the complete program isn't running) what threads are running in the background.

For some people 512MB or 256MB may do the trick.

Mine at home is suped up with 2GB of RAM. Compared to some people who game (which I don't), that's nothing ram wise.
