Napalm Death - Punishment in Capitals DVD

Live DVD's are usually boring. If you are like me, you want a whole show. However, sitting an watching an entire show gets boring, cause its just the same shots over and over - rotating throught the cameras. Even worse when it is a stationary band - or if the band has a singer/guitar player.

When my brother got this Napalm DVD - it blew my mind. Tons of cameras - different styles - lots and lots of crowd shots of people slamming. Lots of shots from the crowd's point of view. Cool editing.

After seeing it I don't understand why all bands since then haven't done their DVD's like this. It is amazing.

The "Wrath of the Norsemen" Amon Amarth DVD is filthy. Same goes for the Death "Live in LA" DVD. I think "Emperial Live Ceremony" from Emperor goes without saying.

Not Metal, but must own---> Any/All GG Allin DVDs. That has almost nothing to do with music though.

I really enjoy the Judas Priest DVDs, both the old one from the Screaming for Vengeance tour in Memphis that's a real basic shoot of a full show and the latest one from the Angel of Retribution tour, that's very well produced. Manowar have some that are pretty good entertainment. The Sodom one is definitely awesome. I'm really not big on DVDs, but those are the ones I've actually enjoyed watching. Emperial Live Ceremony also rules, as someone mentioned. Is the Dissection one good? I was curious about that.

I don't really care for GG DVDs. A GG Allin show is always entertaining, but my problem with the videos is that most of them feature several different shows, and that sounds really cool until you watch them all and it's basically the same exact show 3 times - same songs, different locations. Before long, the shock value wears off pretty fast.

Therion-celebrators of becoming, one of the most comprehensive dvds ive ever seen, clips from all stages of career, music videos, professionally shot live stuff. its excellent

Arcturus- shipwrecked in oslo, well put together live show dvd, not much for extras though

not a band, but Metal: A headbangers Journey is a really well done dvd.

My brother has the Carpathian Forest DVD, it's alright. The stage show is a little entertaining, and they give a good performance, but I found it to be kind of boring, and I remember the extras being stupid.
Maybe there's just something dull about watching a fairly well produced black metal concert.
