the folding that takes 25hrs on my laptop (2GHZ C2D) takes 8hrs on my PS3. holy cow!

i still have no clue what this is.

it's a program that you install. it runs as a screensaver. when you aren't using your computer, the screensaver computes things on proteins trying to find the cure for cancers and other diseases.

you just have to click on it.

no one else besides me is folding in the RTTP team. just letting my ps3 fold while I'm not playing has put the team to 9000-ish.

ya i got owned in that, untold legends wasnt bad online, and Virtua fighter 5 just wont let you which is gay cause its a good game online fighting would be great

they need to come out with more games before I'll try them again. My brother asked me last night if they will make online play between 360/ps3. I said they could totally make a game that people on the 360s, macs, pcs, and ps3s could all play against each other if they weren't assholes. I would love an oblivion game like that.

when you install it, it asks. or you can go to the preferences and it's in the last tab I think. you are doing this on a PC?

you have to process one unit first. one unit usually takes a day. my ps3 does it in like 8hrs.

i have ubuntu and ssh on like 4 friends comps... i just installed it on all their comps with my user id and RTTP team#

nice! I need to get my ubuntu running it, but when I originally did it, I didn't see it backing off a CPU

I want to hook a printer (or two) up to my ubuntu and share them.
ideas?

how long does it take to show up on the rankings... or do u need a certain amount of work units to get it to show? i may have done the username/team thing wrong. i dunno about the printer thing? get a network laser printer off craigslist i guess.

I already own 2 or 3 printers. the link above will do it.

you have to crank 1 U before you show up.

it takes my PS3 8hrs to crank through one.
my C2D 2GHz machine takes 24hrs.

well then i have nuthin over 1ghz running it... but i have 5 going at once... probably gimme 4 days.

yeah, see alex, xax's ps3 has been doing the for the same time as your machine and he's at 5 units where you are still at 1.
my work P4 (which I never use) is at 58 running flatout.
adminitrator is a 2ghz c2d that I rarely have folding (mostly at night).
iow: the ps3 processor rocks.

ill catch up yet! i just have to figure how to do it cheaply.

PS3 is the $/power/processor best choice.

errr 600$? ati x1900 is like 100-200 used and i think its supposed to be faster than the ps3. regardless im probably not gonna spend $.

i believe its only been developed for x1900, some x1800 and some x1600 needs a minimum of 512 megs on the card

those stats arent up to date but u can see the ratio still

ps3s are $500 now and you get blue ray.

you should make a F@H section and have the stats on the page someplace. that way you don thave to keep bumping the thread when we forget about it
