good band, even though 'breathing is irrelevant' kills 'solace.' |
|
I like 'em. Ditto on what Blue said, basically. |
|
Sometimes the vox piss me off ... other than that its cat's ass tight. |

I think what kills solace is its terrible production. It's so tinny and dead.
Breathing is Irrelevant is one of the most intense discs I've ever heard, and Gab wins the award for most pissed off guy.

do you need to know everyone else's opinion before forming your own?
i like 'em |

It seems that everyone either loves them or hates them, I just wanted something to feed my hypothesis. |
|
well, you're not settting up a potential opponent to your hypothesis. If you put a more neutral option you might have found that your hypothesis is unfounded. However, you've only left a "love em" or "hate em" option. This makes it impossible to disprove your theory. And, I'm sorry to have to break to you, it makes it impossible to prove your theory.
Way to totally fail, guy! |

brian does not accept deviation from the scientific method |
|
I must stand by my standards. Anything less doesn't even use the combination of letters forming "stand"! |
|
you sound like youre doing standup |

Thanks, next time I conduct a scientific evaluation on the psychology behind liking or hating Ion Dissonance, I'll keep that in mind.
|
|
I consider Ion Dissonance "techcore" and seeing as how they are from Canada I like them even more for that.
Still waiting for a new record... |
|
pro-Canada bias
interesting |
|
It seems strange, I know, but Canada only has good bands to offer. |
|
Canada does have it's fair share of good metal bands
Into Eternity
Augury
Neuraxis
Cryptopsy
Strapping Young Lad......or anything Devin Townsend is involved in
Ion Dissonance
Quo Vadis
there's a bunch that i'm forgetting...but you get the idea |

how come there wasn't a "talented, but annoying" option? |
|

you should refer to the portion of the thread where I already called him out on not having a less extreme option. I totally invoked the scientific method. |
|
indeed, brian exposed my survey-fraud. |

They really aren't a bad band. All the windfall from the "Bree" craze sort of lumped them into a category that they shouldn't be in. Just my opinion, obviously. You might objectively think that they blow. |

I didn't even know they were from Canada... |

I made the naming my daughter Bree comment.
It's my opinion, but Despised Icon is so far ahead of any other "deathcore" bands. Vocally they are sound, musically they are sound, but the drumming is fucking phenomenal. The kid takes what could generic metal/death/core whatever and makes it standout with ridiculously fast and tasteful parts. Listen to The Healing Process all the way through, and it might surprise you. |
|
hey you guys forgot kataklysm, they are from canada |

When I bought "The Healing Process" when it first came out, I think I listened to it for like 3 months straight. I still can't stop listening to it. To me, they define what a deathcore band should sound like. I look for technical supremacy and they have it. |

it's not that they're bad. but when i first heard them i thought it was technical as hell, but no really memorable songs. i also was very unimpressed with them when they opened for morbid angel |
|
DAHMER is from Canada..They were fuckin sick. |
