Hirudinea
PanzerBastard
@ Cambridge Elks - 55 Bishop Richard Allen Drive - Cambridge, MA
4pm doors.
Wait, so this is the real one now? I can't keep up with all the changes, so I'll just plan on going and seeing a kick ass show, and I'll figure out the actual line-up when I get there.
Goddammit. It's not the time that matters, it's getting home. Maybe I'll have a car by then. [yeah right] Actually I'm out of school by then I think, maybe I'll just crash at my moms or something. I don't know, I'll find a way, I'm not missing this!
What is the sad state of affairs wih this band? Who's head is on the chopping block? Am I going to have to come out of retirement and come in disguise as a midget?
The only salute performed during a Panzerbastard set is a cry for more beer. Remember: never spill booze on Bobby's rig.

a bunch of our comrades were throwing roman salutes out there during our set. I knew some people were 'offended' or whatever but we're not a political band whatsoever...honestly.
That show was myself and Mikes 'private' birthday party show, we didnt think any outsiders that were unfamiliar with ours and our comrades antics would even be there to get offended. But again, PanzerBastard are not political, we're not nazis...we're just not PC an enjoy offending people.

You see, thats what i was thinking to. Even so, i didn't even see that and it was my reh. space i was at the entire night.
What a bunch of crybabies. No Resistance records bands here. SUPPORT
wow people still crying about people throwing salutes. lets dig up sid vicious and beat him up to while were at it. who let all these pussys into metal and punk. boring... pc nazi censorship bitches. get over it people. go after some real shit like the govt and blow up a building like mcvay if you got real balls. stay out of extreme music. thats why its extreme bc it aint for pussys.
I'm a fan of anyone that does heavy amounts of drugs, can't play an instrument but does anyways, and pisses people off. Though I fucking hate the Sex Pistols.
started at 4:15. when craig does the shows, they are early. hirudinea setting up now.
panzerbastard: wow, after talking to rich I totally thought I was going to miss their set. Thankfully, I made a 66 minute (@ 80) drive in 45 minutes. The sounded awesome especially for the first band. I had to wade through probably 50+ people to get near the stage. Awesome that all these people woke up and got down here dispite their hangovers. (well, since 1/2 the crowd isn't legal, maybe these are the people who couldn't find their older friends to by them 2 6-packs). awesome oldschool hardcorse. The best part of the set was seeing er.. hearing.. kinslayer do vocals. It just struck me as funny seeing a bm dude doing normal vocals. He did his best lemmy during the last song which was ace of spade..i also liked how every song was their "myspace hit".
I think I saw you there. If not, I tried staring down some kid I don't even remotely know (rather than just not really knowing). I was going to find you and make it clear that I didn't want your sweet candy, but I thought you left before ENT.
I left after the first song because I had a 40 minute drive home and I was already so tired I could barely keep my eyes open(not to mention I had a huge headache). If you think you saw me, was I wearing a Born Against shirt?
hirudinea: it must be the acustics of the room, but any drums that wasany where near a punk or 2-step beat was excentuated. Their song had a dancible beat for all the studded jackets. The room went nuts for inject now, just kill us and over the top for the cover of sex&violence.
It Will End In Pure Horror: wow, I tried really hard to never shoot richhorror and the dissector players, but I finally did. People danced as best they cover for their entire set. The 2 covers they did had people caring for the band and I am the walking dead featured horror tang and metal george on back ups.
No idea. You were walking around by yourself and appeared to be talking to yourself (I may be mistaken) near the ENT merch table. I believe you had jeans with some holes in them. I was the guy wearing plaid flannel, pretty sure I was the only one. I thought I was making legitimate eye contact and being a sucessful creep when I was sitting on the bench dealy, maybe I was wrong. I was with a girl from RI that said "Yeah, that dude is the guy on RttP who battled with you in that vegan war/hatefest that you sent me to show your e-bitching skills."

i dont even need to stress how pissed i'am for not paying attention to the date for this show
iskra: I don't think I've seen them before. Sort of grindy punk. Um.. some of the stuff was like older napalm death. I can't think of anything else to say about them other than the mic was cutting out the whole set.
strong intention: these guys always seem to sneak on some cool tours. I think the last one was with phobia too. The crowd was moving around in the most bizarre corky dance... It was almost like there was no band playing at all.
there are so many people here. Sooo many horrible fashion choices and people that (if I had a company) I would never hire. Folks, a leather jacket with no shirt under it should not be a fashion choice. NO MATTER HOW IRONIC IT IS!

Oh yeah, I did see a couple people from Rhode Island at that show I recognized. I was walking around by myself a lot, I was talking with one other person there, I wasn't talking to myself though. At least not intentionally, my lips might have been moving. I did have jeans with a few holes. I think I know who you are now.
This show seems to be moving much smoother, or maybe it's just the earlier time. There were five bands that played before Iskra did and by the time ENT went on, it was 12:45 in the morning.
haha, well now you know what i look like so feel free next time. i was expecting you to be at the show, but have almost no idea what you look like, so that wouldn't have worked too well.
This was intense. Thanks for all the kisses and hugs and especially the "you are a cute man" comment. No thanks to sweaty dudes will rocks for brains. No thanks to the beyond wasted girl with the ass crack. It was awesome to meet so many goood people. It was great to get to talk with a woman that I met at the first show I set up in 1993 who now was waiting outside for her 14 year old punk rock son. Working the door is fun.
Best show we ever played. Thanks to all the kids for pigpiling and just generally being lunatics. Thanks to all the kids who shook my hands the second we were done to say how into it there were. Thanks to Bill Toxic and Shane Phobia for all the kind words. Thanks Robin!

For those interested, the covers were The Misfits, GG Allin, Black Flag, Cro-Mags and Gang Green.
I had every intention of coming to this show. I ended up going to the superbowl of hardcore on a whim. I didn't get back to Boston until like 6 on Sunday and by that time I was wiped out. Boo.
panzerbastard fucking killed it. total chaos. best band. one of the best hirudinea sets. it was cool to play an all ages show and seeing kids unfamiliar with us going off. ENT was amazing. the guitarist did a great job with the vokillz.
wow, there were a shitload of people at that show. i'm so happy i'm moving back to MA next week. the CT show sucked for attendance. it would have been good if it was a local show. i'd say the most people in attendance in new london on saturday at any given time didn't even break 100. bitches.
I wish ENT could have played a few more songs but all around it was a great show. I don't remember the last time I went to a show were the crowd went crazy for every band like that.

I don't think it's so much that the attendance sucked that bad but a ton of people went to the show and just stood out in the patio the whole time. Though it was pretty funny that only five people or so were watching Strong Intention. They suck ass. It was disappointing that the crowd was much larger for Toxic Narcotic than the good bands on the bill too.

all those people standing in the patio were idiots then, haha.
i gotta say, i dig strong intention, but more for the music and the backing vocals. the bassist doesn't really have much energy when it comes to vocals...or any energy at all. i was one of the 5 people watching them, haha.
good show indeed. Panzerbastard, hirudinea, and iweiph put on some awesome sets. Iskra sounded great blackend crust grind. Strong intention was meh. Phobia kicked ass, although i thought they played too long. Toxic stole the show and blood was spilled. I was standing in the back during tn's set and some chick had her nose busted open
Ent were good but i left in the middle of their set. Not having the 2 vocalists kinda spoiled it for me, it just wasn't the same.
Phobia and Strong Intention are apparently playing Providence sometime next week with Saint Jude and someone else, I definitely want to check that out.
Remember all those shows in the last month that were a close drive to my house, in a city that's actually easy to navigate and doesn't have tons of traffic in it, were in venues where there was actually enough room to move around, and people were actually watching the bands instead of standing outside?
Why go to shows in Boston when the same show is happening much closer in a place where I can recognize a lot more people and the shows only have four bands instead of seven or eight?
There are never shows in Providence. Like, ever. I have no idea what you're talking about. I didn't say it Providence wasn't more convenient for you, shit, it's closer for me too...but that doesn't make these mythical shows and venues you are referring to real.
Maybe you just think there are no shows in Providence because you ignore all the Armageddon Shop threads on here and don't post on Lots of Noise?
Rich is acting as Boston's ambassador to Providence next week anyway, can't miss that shizz. If it's an option for me I'll go to the Cripple Bastards show tomorrow but my car is reallllly not acting in any way that would want to make me drive to Boston.
No, there are a ton of metal/hardcore/punk rock shows that have good support there. They're just in the way underground thanks to Great White. Also, you mostly go to shows your husband's band is playing or some big national tour. Providence has less easy venues, therefor they stick together more and work more so that the shows can take place. People in Boston cry because a beer is a dollar more than they want to spend.

The show in Pawtucket (not Providence) with I Destroyer, Four Horse, Sin of Angels, The White Mice, and Jucifer was a good time. Also the show with La Fraction, Mass Grave, Man the Conveyors, and Lolita Black. Providence may not be better but I can think of a couple awesome shows in the last month.
Providence has a better and tighter-knit scene. FACT.
Yes, this is true. That's my basis for thinking Providence is better anyway, because Boston bands play down here plenty. I've seen Mind Eraser and Scapegoat in Providence and those are the two I like the most, your band's playing here on Sunday, it's all good.

Yeah, if you like Rockabilly and MahiMahi.
There is no rockabilly around here unless you count Sasquatch and the Sick-a-billys which I believe nobody cares about. I don't like Mahi Mahi on CD but their shows are always a fun time and they're nice guys.

The Direct Control/Strung Up show that happened back in September was fucking PACKED. Probably because Dropdead was on the bill but still. If there is one problem I have with the types of bands/people in Providence is that there isn't really anybody into powerviolence which is my favorite of the punk subgenres. I've got nothing against seeing crusty bands, flat out hardcore bands, whatever metal bands we have, they're all a fun time, but there's few bands that really pack that punch for me here. The closest I could think of that we have around would be Third Death and Suffering Bastard.
Come to a Dropdead show sometime in Providence, you'll see the room filled to the brim.
As far as which is better? I don't even care too much, really. Just gotta represent mah l0cal $cene, y'allz.
People need to learn to listen to the context. I dunno, I find 'haha, you fag' a little less offensive than 'I hate all faggots and wish they were dead'.
Providence does have way better venues for sure. I say the amount of good bands are about equal.

how can you even compare the amount of good bands? boston has a fuckload more/a much better scene/history....lol at comparing providence to boston in the first place...get your head out of your ass
Excuse me, but who gives a shit? I have seen amazing, life changing shows in both cities. Boston and Providence are sister cities. My only issue with touring bands hitting Providence and not Boston is that Providence and Rhode Island in general is much more car oriented so therefore the ability to get to shows if they are a distance away is made easier. For the majority of people that I know in Boston, a public transportation based metro-area, it becomes much harder to get to Providence for shows based on the lack of transportation. With that said, I always am very happy when a bunch of Providence people make it up to any show I am involved with in Boston. I also love hitting up a Providence show when it is possible for me to do so and I hope to make it down to Providence for a show again very soon.

Are you still mad about 230 Oak getting shut down?
