These accusations happened a while ago.....Carlos Mencia has never been funny and never will be....he tried picking up where chappelle left off with the whole racism thing, but is not even near the same caliber of a comedian as chappelle. He should be locked up in a Mexican jail and really find out what its like to be a bottom of the barrel "beaner" before he starts pretending he's one.

Hahaha, I just saw this earlier today. Funny. I never liked Carlos Mencia. I don't mind the whole racism in comedy thing, it's just that he barely ever tells jokes. He just states stereotypes most of the time. Usually racial comics make jokes out of stereotypes instead of just going "How come when white people drink, it's sophisticated, but when black people drink, they're drunks?". Where's the punchline? Where's the funny part... I'm waiting. I'm not offended by this stuff, I just don't think it's clever in any way.

This shit's almost as old as Dane Cook ripping off Louis CK, but not quite as old as Dennis Leary stealing from Bill Hicks. Comedians without original material suck. Laugh at Frat-fag Dane Cook all you want, but he's as bad as Mencia. I think Dane Cook's funny, but you can't just look the other way. Mencia, unfortunately isn't funny at all, and the race thing's played out. It's so stale that it's now funnier when white comedians make fun of black comedians for poorly making fun of whites (See Daniel Tosh. also funnier than Dane Cook and Mencia.) Doug Stanhope, Lewis Black, Dave Attell, David Cross, those guys are fucking funny. Cook's quirky and more amusing to watch than listen to, and Mencia's just painful.

I have mixed feelings on Dane Cook. The first time I was exposed to him it was a dvd and I didn't think it was funny. Then when I heard the CDs I laughed my ass off. I still just don't think it's as funny when you're watching him, 'cause he seems so much more cocky and overthetop in an unfunny way when you see how he acts. I can understand the criticisms he gets though, like not ever having punchlines in his jokes and such. I wasn't aware that he stole jokes though, that's dumb.

Joe Rogan is king. His characters and personas are always total bastards and the fact that he can hold up to it in real life is amazing. I was less than blown away by his work on The Man Show, but he was priceless on News Radio.

I've never met anyone who thought Carlos Mencia was funny. Never. Not one person. I don't think I've ever watched more than 5 minutes of his show without saying "What the hell does this asshole think he's doing?" With all the trite racial observations he makes I'm pretty sure anyone "Mexican" or not could write material for him.

And I'm really glad someone mentioned Louie CK. That guy is hysterical and incredibly under rated. Dane Cook can kiss my ass. A friend of mine tried to get me into Cook. He went to see the guy like 3 nights in a row at one point. I asked him what kind of material he did, and if how the hell he found the same shit funny 3 nights in a row. He said "I dunno, I was drunk. All I remember is laughing." Not exactly the kind of endorsement I'm looking for.
