So I want to record some sounds outdoors and was wondering where I could get this sort of recording equipment?

first thing I thought when I read title "what's the matter, can't find an outlet in the woods?"

sorry, no outlet's in NH woods. we like to keep it that way.

personally, I was thinking of homer simpson trying to plug a hord into a pig's nose.

look into one of these, they're pretty sweet, and I've been thinking about getting one at some point to record practices. the only draw back to using one to record practices it the fact that they use compact flash media. if it has a USB interface, you may be able to use a USB external Hard Drive, or just connect it to a laptop and record your ambient sounds in the woods (along with recording a tr00 kvlt blackmetal album)
