Rob Halford (JUDAS PRIEST), Robert Plant (LED ZEPPELIN) and Ronnie James Dio (DIO, BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW) are among the singers who appear on Hit Parader magazine's (cover) list of "Heavy Metal's All-Time Top 100 Vocalists" (published in the November 2006 issue).
Commented the editors of the magazine: "Assembling our list certainly presented a daunting task considering the breadth and scope of the metal empire during its 35-year reign as rock's most powerful and enduring force. We tried our best not to turn this into some sort of popularity contest where only the most famous (or infamous) frontmen in metal lore were recognized. Sure, the likes of Plant, Halford and Tyler are here, but so are such oft-overlooked notables Mogg, Owens and Sandoval."

Pfffft... horribly retarded list.
Chris Cornell DEFINITELY deserves to be above Bruce Bruce. Fucken idiots.. |
1. Bruce Dickinson
2. KING Diamond
I don't understand why I didn't make the cut. Clearly they know nothing about metal. |
that might just be the stupidest fucking thing i've ever seen |
Zack De La Faggot gets 38 but Peter Steele gets 81. right. |

Frankly I'm suprised they even acknowledged the fact that Peter Steele even exists.

touche. he does kind of get passed over. |
explain how Pepper Keenan is not metal. |
Let's not forget that Rolling Stone DEFINES what metal is...Josh Martin told me so. |
my bad, i overlooked one
i always mistake him for the singer of the butthole surfers for some reason |
Many of these are not heavy metal vocalists. The list is bunk and discredited.
Amy Lee? Bon Jovi? Fairy wigga core.
Eddie Veder and Scott Stapp are heavy metal vocalists? Since when?
There are perhaps 10-30 vocalists on the list that qualify. |
ah...otherwise....agreed. |
johnathan davis above roger daltrey.....jesus
fred durst above jimi hendrix...........wow
there is to much to say |
ann wilson is more metal than most of that list |
the fact that lemmy, who should be top 5, is 48th, 2 spots behind chester bigglesworth makes me want to kill people. |
you losers are all pretty upset over a Hit Parader article |
What did you expect from Hit Parader magazine? Most of their readers are teenage mallrats anyway, they're not going to question anything.
"Yes! Sully Erna made the list, I just knew he was metal! Who the hell is King Diamond?" |

it's pretty obvious they dont know what the fuck they are talking about period... but to prove it..
I have seen an interveiw with tool, where they said.. " people referring to us as metal makes us want to take a shower"
if the band itself does not consider themsleves metal, how the fuck can they be on that list
the fact that they thought to put the dudes from creed, jane's addiction, monster magnet, puddle of mudd, and buckcherry just really makes my skin crawl |
dude come on, "Crazy Bitch" is a fucking brutal song. |
a lyrical genius, josh todd surely is |
my sister's band opened for him when he did his solo thing at the lucky dog and more people watched them...haha |
i think they did it as a general public knowledge deal...
for instance would the regular top 40 listener know who corpsegrinder is?
probably not
but do they know who amy lee and fred durst and mike shinoda( isn't he the rapper in linkin park?) are
yes
that list is horrible |
yeah but they called buckcherry metal |
it should be "rock vocalists" |
Yeti said: dude come on, "Crazy Bitch" is a fucking brutal song. |
hahahhahaha |
I am ashamed to ever have read one magazine from this Hit Parader.
This is just as bad as when VH1 tries to do documentaries on heavy metal and fails horribly. |
Nice, dude. They fucking put Ray Gillen on there!
Badlands ruled. |
Ah, Jon told me this was Rolling Stone...I didn't know Hit Parader was still around. That's unfortunate. |
