True, although if you say no, they will just make you stand there for an hour until a K9 unit shows up. Then, if the dog so much as winks funny, that is grounds to search.

yes it is worth it. the one time my friend said "yes" the cops found a bag of shake in some coat that a girl left in the car.
almost every time I've been pulled over (pre-25) the cops ask to search. I said no and then they would let me go. they also can't hold you there for an hour. after you give them your ID, they can only hold you for a "reasonable time" which has been determined to be about 20minutes. any longer and they need to bring you in or let you go. |
