Lately I've made a couple finds that make me happy, and seem to make my life a bit more organized. Thought I'd share them with some of the other computer geeks on here.

1) Google homepage. It's awesome. I'm probably way behind the bandwagon on this one, but I just discovered it when I was fucking around on the google page. I've currently got it set up so when I launch firefox, it takes me right to my google page. I've got my horoscope, the womans horoscope, top 5 stories from the three news outlets I used to check seperately, the weather for the next 5 days, and my favorite: the calendar.

The calendar is pretty sick. I put in my weeks schedule, and it maps out events, holidays, my work schedule, etc..., all a click away from my homepage.

If you haven't tried it, give the google page a shot.

2) OPENOFFICE.org.

Like many of you, my company is in love with microsoft's $500 piece of shit: Microsoft Office. Powerpoint and excel are pretty much a requirement for paperwork, scheduling, and proposals.

OpenOffice is a completely FREE and excellent alternative to the warez and cracked versions of Office I've been forced to resort to over the years.

It's pretty much IDENTICAL to Office, except it's free and open source.

You can export files as excel files, open excel files, and can even save to PDF or other documents you may find useful. I've started using it to write all my schedules, budgets, etc.... And no nagging guilt that I stole it.

HAHA

I got spam filtered when I tried to post this. The type in text for each try were "Nora", "Glassjaw", and "sacreligi". What're you saying about Sacreligion?
