Anyone work at a roland/ boss dealer that might be interested in hooking me up with a good price on a boss bcb60 pedalboard?

toggletoggle post by blue  at Nov 8,2006 2:47pm
well, i dont work at the GC boston anymore. kinslayer still works there though, he could probably hook you up.

toggletoggle post by Niccolai   at Nov 8,2006 2:48pm
Do they have Reese's cereal there?

If he could give me a discount on that it would be fucking sweet because that shit is maaaad expensive.

toggletoggle post by blue  at Nov 8,2006 2:55pm
well, boss/roland stuff unfortunately have absurdly high costs so your discount wont be huge, but itll definetly help. if kinslayer (andrew) isnt around, my boy cody in guitars will definetly hook you up. just tell him you're a friend of pete's.

If I could get like 20-30% off it would be a huge help, sence I'm broke as fuck because i'm stll out of work and not getting workman's comp.

I just sold my BCB60 on Ebay for $100! Oh well...
I can whore one out to you from GC Boston if you want... 20% off is certainly the least I'd be able to do.

I was actually thinking about starting a topic such as this...

I'm looking into a new Head/Cab setup, I'm not made of money, what would you suggest?

the head MUST be tube (something along the lines of a 5150 II, 6505+, XXX, etc) and I need a ballsy sounding cabnet, with good mid range/low end response.

The only Peavey worth owning is the 5150 and you wont find one of those easily at any local music stores. They would only come in used as a trade and that's rare and unpredictable.

well, Dan (dyingmuse) has the Peavey JSX, and that's got quite a bit of oomph, and I like the tone he gets from it

5150s can sometimes be had on craigslist for as low as 500 bucks.

well if youre looking to not drop a lot of money, then start shopping used.

peavey 5150s/6505s are solid for the money, even their new valveking series is pretty good IMO.

how much are you looking to spend?

I'd love to be able to trade in my rack towards my head, and getting it for under a grand. (that's if I go the new route) Used, I'd definately like to come in under $750 (lower if possible)

as far as cabnets, I'd like to get into one for around $600ish and I'm thinking of doing the cabnet before the head, as my existing old Peavey cabnet just flat out sucks. (it's dinged up and debadged, so it ain't worth shit on trade in)

well if you're looking for a new cab, theres a few options to look at. first, there will always be a constant stream of used marshall 1960 series cabs in the 3-500 range and those are always a decent pick for an all around cab. or, for the 400ish range (and for my top pick) definetly check out http://www.avatarspeakers.com. awesome quality cabs and you can throw whatever speakers you want in it (my personal fav would be a g12t-75/vintage 30 X pattern), awesome prices too. that way you can still invest another 600ish into a head.

dont expect to get shit on a trade in on your rack though. try selling it on craigslist.

I wasn't thinking I'd get much. I figured I'd retire most of it to my house for recording purposes.
