I have little kids

Yes, until Mrs. Kok found out, scorned me, gave me an unimpressed look, then turned it off.
"We have to wait till we plastic the windows, do you want to heat the outside?"

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Nov 7,2006 9:40am
I have little kids too, but apparently they dont give a fuck.

toggletoggle post by hybrid   at Nov 7,2006 9:42am
im on a third floor all by myself, i was still leaving my window open at night until about 3 days ago.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 7,2006 9:47am
your parents didn't get mad about that?

toggletoggle post by hybrid   at Nov 7,2006 9:50am
my dad fucking flipped.

Central heating is neither TREU nor KVLT. Additionally, my computer pumps out enough ambient heat that I can avoid paying heat bills by paying for electricity that I was going to use anyway.

This could be the punchline to a million and one priceless jokes.

How much are your heating bills anyways? My new apartment which is fucking huge in a poorly insulated old house cost like $200 a month.

* edit * from what a gather 200 a month is retardedly high.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Nov 7,2006 10:13am
I'm in a pretty big house so it gets ridiculously cold already. We've turned it up as high as 62 just to keep from feeling like shit.

toggletoggle post by CaptainCleanoff at Nov 7,2006 10:14am
I turned on my heat because I have kids and I am white.

toggletoggle post by DeRtOxIa   at Nov 7,2006 10:16am
my house has really old hot water register things. our furnace runs all the time to heat our water so when it gets cold out the heaters just kick themselves on. We usually have our thermostat set to something rediculous like 62 though. I have 4 computers and a laptop running in my room, oh and also the networking equipment and my 1200watt home theatre amp. so i have my heater shut off. I probably wont turn it on until mid February. Even with my window wide open my room is scorching. I only have one window and my door is in an awkward spot so i can't get any airflow in my room.

That works too with a Halogen light...those suckers pump out some heat. Just remember to not burn your house down.

Yes. At our house, the temperature drops like a stone as soon as the sun goes down. It's been in the 20s every morning for like a week and a half.

my old apartment in Worcester was just about 300 or 400 a month i believe. but you could stand 5 feet from any window and your hair would move from the breeze.

yeah, mine's included in the rent too, so i crank it up

the only thing that sucks is we dont have access to the thermostat, its regulated by the landlord. but he keeps it on so its not cold by any means. i'll take that over paying for my own any day though.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Nov 7,2006 1:18pm
i have my own thermostat.

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Nov 7,2006 1:18pm
plus, we're top floor, meaning once that heat really gets going we'll be getting most of it ;)

No I havnt. Im hoping to get hypothermia and eventually freeze to death..

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Nov 8,2006 8:40am
I've turned the heat on in my new place a few times, mainly because we had a guy come by to fix the vents and make sure the basement will be heated with the existing vents as well as upstairs. Also to test it out. Gotta get the rest of the oil tank full and quick.

toggletoggle post by badsneakers at Nov 8,2006 10:02pm
nope

I use a fan year round too

and even when the heats is on I still crack a window at night, I like the fresh air
