Wednesday nights are good if you can get on the slot with a local. Regular crowds generally prefer the lighter side of things but have tolerated heavier acts. Bands get 70% food and drinks all night and typically get paid. Smoking allowed after 9pm. *cough*

from my condo, I could almost throw a brick and hit the station that rage rock broadcasts from.

WSCA

I was in your back yard the other day then. Comfy little set up they have there. First time i've seen what goes on 'behind the music.'

Do you listen to black light meditations? Only heard parts that night, the streaming feature was bogged down.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 26,2006 2:25pm
I don't know what a black light meditation is.

toggletoggle post by mcmahon  at Sep 26,2006 2:31pm
Black Night Mediations

Last week he played a bunch of local stuff to help promote the WSCA fundraiser. Only caught a portion of it. I think they played CSDO. Would have hung on longer if the stream didnt bogg down.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 26,2006 2:34pm
hm.. I haven't been there since the music director tried to get me to do the metal show there before they even got their transmitter running... wait.. that's not true, but it was before they had shows. it was just an automated broadcast from a computer.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Sep 26,2006 2:39pm
what about the open house? oh wait..that was before

toggletoggle post by mcmahon  at Sep 26,2006 2:40pm edited Sep 26,2006 2:41pm
I think they still do that during times when there isn't a DJ. I only know Mike (guy who gave us the intro wed.) and Hammer (bouncer) from Underworld Rock. They are on today, though I envision you sticking a screw driver in your ear after a song or two. Unless you are a closet Hour-Past fan.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 26,2006 2:43pm
I thought it was hourcast they were talking about.

toggletoggle post by mcmahon  at Sep 26,2006 2:55pm
it doesn't make much difference.

did new user accounts skyrocket after or what?

toggletoggle post by mcmahon  at Oct 5,2006 11:39am
talked to rex last night, still looking for bands on wednesdays

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 5,2006 12:04pm
ANYONE NOT DOING THIS IS A MORON.
awesome sound, good crowd.
the club is a 9 out of 10 (because of the smoke or it would be a 10)

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Oct 5,2006 12:08pm
Agreed. We played there once, I fucking loved it. Built-in crowd that was responsive to my shitty ex-band. It Will End In Pure Horror? Yeah, we werw awful. Guaranteed your band is better and will get an even better response. They also give you a food & Booze tab and take 70% off at the end of the night. You could go into a coma for ten bucks.

toggletoggle post by mcmahon  at Oct 5,2006 12:18pm
glad i'm not the only one suprised by this...

toggletoggle post by SteveOTB   at Oct 5,2006 12:27pm
Agreed. I love this venue, the lighting in insane and makes for awesome pictures...once again thanks Rev.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 5,2006 12:32pm

Yeah, place kicks ass. The only shitty thing is the parking.

toggletoggle post by dyingmuse   at Oct 9,2006 5:22pm
Yeah looks a bit cunty. And the Stairs lol!

toggletoggle post by BlackoutRick at Oct 9,2006 5:55pm
Yeah. Fuckin treacherous stairs carrying gear. shit's crazy.

For those who can't book a wednesday night:

"Contrary to popular belief YES I am still booking the last Saturday of EVERY month at the DOVER BRICKHOUSE. So...that being said Window Pain WILL NOT be playing there every month like we were in 2006. So....I have 36 bands to be booked...36 slots, one of which WILL be filled be Window Pain every few months. Never played a Saturday at the good ol DBH??....lets talk. I want to keep the 2007 metal nights fresh and exciting. If you all could repost this that would be super as well. You can find me here:

www.myspace.com/phatbastardentertainment

I am gonna try my god damn hardest to stick with my proven formula of at LEAST one well drawing local act on these nights. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE BLISTERING HEAVY METAL TO PLAY THESE SHOWS!!!! Just drop me a line.

PLEASE REPOST. I WANNA GET THESE NIGHTS BOOKED AND READY"

- Fletch (Phat Bastard Entertainment)

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 18,2006 2:39pm
parking? what? parking has never been an issue that for me.
there are like 4 huge lots right there.

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Oct 18,2006 2:46pm
Ya, those stairs are downright death defying, in the winter.
Many, many times has a mesa cab almost crushed a white male, ranging in the age of 21-35.

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Oct 18,2006 2:49pm
We havent played there since Dave passed, but I was talkin to Darris in Rezinate about the new guy, and he says he's pretty good.
Jim? U guys played there since?

We should do a show out there soon, before snow.

toggletoggle post by mcmahon  at Oct 18,2006 2:53pm
yah, the new guy is pretty good. only trouble we've had is the main mic cable was cutting out. Last week it was cutting out during the opener so, I'm not sure they have replaced it yet.

you definately should. talk to fletch, we should do the same saturday.

"THREE bands needed for December 13th!" - Rex

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 28,2006 12:31pm
it's like no one is listening!

toggletoggle post by mcmahon  at Nov 28,2006 12:40pm
is this thread on another server or what?!?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 28,2006 12:42pm
hm.. I will look into that

toggletoggle post by mcmahon  at Nov 28,2006 1:18pm
I could make a new thread, but there are already enough repeat threads around.

any suggestions?

Seems like most people just skip over it if they recognize it.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Nov 28,2006 1:25pm
comeon bands get yourself out to dover and do a show.

toggletoggle post by hybrid   at Nov 28,2006 2:46pm
The Brethren is playing the Brickhouse on December 13th, I just got in touch with Rex today. Should be a good time.

toggletoggle post by aaaron NLI duh at Nov 28,2006 4:50pm
I'm just skimming this thread so I might just be missing the details of the answer I'm seeking,
but how does one contact the Brickhouse for booking(or for a band to just weasle it's way onto a show)?
My band is looking to play shows after the 10th of december.
if anyone can help us out, please contact me at
a_heinold@yahoo.com
thank you very much.

John the guitarist is a really good friend of mine. He plays guitar in my old youth group's worship band.

Yup, unless its a Sunday All Ages show.

toggletoggle post by ConquerTheBaphomet  at Dec 5,2006 6:49pm
I love the Brickhouse, don't get me wrong, but they need to have better bands play on the All Ages shows. I rarely go anymore.

toggletoggle post by mcmahon  at Dec 5,2006 6:51pm
yah, id like to organize something there, but last I checked the sundays were booked for a while. Usually sparky (hot poop) books sundays since they have metal on wednesdays.

Band needed for tonight!
