So I just wanted to send this out to let you all know what’s going on with DC, as far as our future plans, and what’s been going on over the past couple months since we haven’t been playing shows and haven’t seen so many of our friends. I know its a long one, im sorry. You might need a break in middle.

First off, we would like to announce the addition of Eric Zabinski ( i know...wicked sweet last name, thats why we picked him) to the Dour lineup on the drums. We have been working with Eric for the past couple months and he is doing an amazing job. He is a really nice dude, a dedicated musician, and a great drummer. We are stoked to be working with someone who shares our ideas and passion for this music.

So for the past couple months we have been meeting up once or twice a week and teaching Eric the songs. We just started rehearsing them with vocals and the songs are sounding much heavier and better than ever. We have about 4-5 songs down with him, which begs the question…when the fuck are you guys gonna play shows again?! The answer is, give us about a month to get our 5th song down and we will be ready.

We have a few shows in the works and one confirmed (Nov 4 in Fairfield, Maine with Nira May and the Auburn System). We are also planning on doing some type of a “comeback” show in November or December on our local turf, either the Fall River VFW or the Barn in Middletown, or hopefully both! also if you would like to book us for the fall or winter please contact us through our myspace or at dour_cursiva@hotmail.com.

So I know I already posted something about this, but we are going into the studio on October 14-15 to record a new song for our myspace and possibly for an upcoming release. We are working at Echo Room in Uxbridge, Ma. You guys should also know that our plans for recording a full length are up in the air now. Our record label sort of broke up and were pretty much waiting for Mike to start up a new label to see what we can do. We definitely want to record something substantial (either an EP, split, or full length) sometime next year.

In other news...Brian cut his hair so he can try to get a real job. Joe grew his out in order to keep the "one metal looking guy in the band" thing going. Cav got new tubes in his amp so it doesnt make wierd noises anymore (besides a couple little pops and stuff when i turn it on, is that normal Blue?). Jakes been sick with strep throat and Pires got a new/old TV from a guy at work that randomly mutes while your watching it.

Thanks so much for reading all of this. And thanks to all of our friends for your continued support and interest.

true. so i went to noll guitars and they told me to just put the tubes in myself. they said it was just like the mesas. there is a bias knob though. not sure what to do with that?

ok, just put the tubes in. use a napkin or something to take the old ones out and the new ones in (wiggle the old ones slightly side to side to get the old ones out, just dont bend the pins). chances are, youre just going to turn the bias knob all the way clockwise. to 'bias' it, just turn on the amp and play while turning the bias knob until it sounds the best to your ears.
