i was listening to one of their songs to thier upcoming album, and it seems like they lost thier bm roots, more boring prog influence

The new one is just an acoustic album so it is what it is. It could be argued they lost their black metal roots and turned into a boring prog band long ago though.

Vintersorg has had an adverse effect on this band. I wish he would just do Vintersorg, maybe Winterclime, and none of his other ghey bands.

Borknagar needs Vortex back.

I was a huge Vortex fan until the latest Arcturus album, and now I kind of want someone to wretch his vocal cords out, not unlike my feelings for Vintersorg after Epic (havent heard the new one yet) or Nordhus from Green Carnation.

Vintersorg is a good musician, and his solo Vintersorg records are great. But most of his bands suck: Otyg, Cronian, Fission, Haevoth, all terrible.

He was okay on a few Borknagar albums, and his prog band Waterclime is cool.
