Anyone here seen this movie? I think it sucked.Kane Hodder had a two bit part in it.The main character looked like Marsha Brady. What a hottie!!

toggletoggle post by dugnli at Sep 8,2006 10:42pm
that's because she played marsha brady in the brady bunch movie. she's also ben stiller's wife. i downloaded this movie but have yet to watch it. why was it so bad?

Another shitty movie I rented recently was Severed Forest.I only watched half of it then turned it off

you should use the movie flag for movie threads.

you mean Severed: Forest of the Dead? I watched it. Interesting ideas and gore but fell short in the logic category. Still better than House of the Dead 1 & 2 though. See if you can find Feed. I thought it was a killer flick.

Room 6 is probably the worst movie I've seen in at least five years. I ran across it on TV and stuck through most of it for some reason, probably because it's related to Mansquito (same writer I think) and I kept expecting it to get funny. Unfortunately, it didn't and whoever thought Taylor and O'Connel could carry a movie should be shot.

you had me on your side until this statement.

Brotherhood of the Wolf is a pretty bad movie, but it's very cheesy and fun and somehow has the dude from the American Iron Chef playing a Native American ninja. Throw in Cassel and Bellucci and it's all in good fun.

I liked Brotherhood of the Wolf. It was at least DIFFERENT, you know? But that said, i agree with Void, the plot wasn't all that.

Mark Dacascos played the Native American striker (wasn't a ninja, there were actually Native American martial arts though I'm not positive if these were followed closely in the fight choreography). Vincent Cassel looks just like my goth DJ ex-roommate and Monica Bellucci is the hottest woman on earth.

I thought it was an interesting take on multiple genres. Horror, martial arts, and French at the same time? I'll buy that.

Also, I loved the costumes the leads were wearing in the rain at the beginning. Great design.

Ha, I knew he wasn't a "ninja", I just thought it was ridiculous that they had a (mostly) asian guy playing a native american (but I didn't know native americans also practiced martial arts). It's like how most movies don't think people will notice nationalities, just that they kind of look similar. Some other bad recent offenders are Banderas in 13th Warrior (although I suppose there could be spanish Muslims) and pretty much the entire female cast of Memoirs of a Geisha.

The costumes did kick ass though

True. Mark Dascasos is definitely 'Asianic.' A quarter Japanese, quarter Irish, and the other half Filipino. I think he could pass pretty well for a Native North or Central American though. He was probably just hired because he had the skills. People remember this guy from Iron Chef, but how about from the terrible Crow TV series?

The Native Americans had a lot of martial arts, it's just that the Western World tends to ignore everything non-Asian when they think of martial arts. Scissorkicking cavalry off horses, grappling, throwing techniques (granted, aside from the kicking, Brotherhood didn't involve many real Native looking techniques). Then again, people rarely even think of wrestling and boxing as martial arts, even though Western-style ground and pound is one the deadliest there is (it doesn't look good in Hong Kong films though).

I liked Banderas in 13th warrior mainly because of his lines. "I lisssssssennned". Hahaha. Part of Spain (Iberian peninsula) was actually conquered by Muslims in the 8th century, Moors in Cordoba, etc. But I believe (from my recollection of the original novel Eaters of the Dead, far better than the film) Banderas was playing an Arab so I can see your point there. Also, Buliwyf/Beowulf is played by a Czech, but he at least did a decent job

God I am such a geek.
