i'd heard of them being called "polka metal" and thought that sounded gay until my friend played me a copy of "nattfodd" a couple of years ago. holy shit is what i thought too when i first heard them - all these catchy, bouncy melodies but they were fucking HEAVY and unbelievably aggressive. really fun stuff, great band!

Finntroll got me into folk metal, now I live for folk metal, I value it above all other forms.

The Finntroll video is extremely gay, it's just a Motley Crue style video but the band has fake warts on. Huge letdown. Girls, liquor, posing. Check.

Otherwise, I love Finntroll.

i havent heard their first album, but in my opinion jaktens tid takes the cake, and visor om slutet is not as intense but the first track is rather mindblowing

yeah, Finntroll was outstandingly amazing live too!

I prefer the first album Midnattens Widunder.

Visor Om Slutet is awesome but that's not a normal Finntroll album, it's mostly just the folkish elements.

fintroll is the fucking shit and for some reason people try to make fun of me for listening to them all the time....someone on this bored tried to be like "go listen to fintroll you homo"...i was confused for a moment seeing as how i though this bored was mostly metal bored but this thread now puts my mind at rest
