I hope he punches me in the face.

isn't he a rape baby?

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Jun 8,2006 9:41am
he is missing a thumb that bleeds

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jun 8,2006 9:43am
I remember when he was a little kid sitting outside that club in New Haven where all the hardcore shows used to be. He used to like Alert.

toggletoggle post by SteveOTB   at Jun 8,2006 9:50am
Personally I still love Hatebreed. I also like how he's basically giving back to the hardcore scene by signing all these hardcore bands and staying true to his roots and not trying to become the typical rock star. Yeah he's on Head Bangers Ball but that's because of his overall love for music and he knows what he's talking about unlike most VJ's.

toggletoggle post by CTborderpatrol at Jun 8,2006 9:57am
hes still a pussy

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Jun 8,2006 10:38am
Hatebreed isn't a hardcore band.

I would like to take this oppurtunity to challenge Mr. Jasta to a bare knuckles boxing match.

toggletoggle post by yep at Jun 8,2006 10:40am
yeah hatebreed is definitely black metal

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Jun 8,2006 10:41am
If by 'black' you mean 'queer', then yes.

toggletoggle post by TheGreatSpaldino   at Jun 8,2006 10:42am
if he wont box you, ill sure as hell box his ass.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Jun 8,2006 10:43am
I don't even know what that means, but I confess to being aroused by the vague mental image it creates.

toggletoggle post by OldSchool at Jun 8,2006 10:44am
i remember the kid playing in that band jasta 14, i kinda liked them because they sounded different than the hardcore bands of the early 90's but not by much. i think i talked to him about how his shows destroyed thrash metal in CT. he said he was a thrash metal fan but had more interest in the hardcore style. that was waaaaaaay back in 1992. i am fuckin old. i think he was a little kid back then and i remember being impressed with his attitude. how he set up shows when he was 15 is beyond me. he's a natural business man i hear. aint his name Jamey Shannahan (per the demo tape i remember)!? Why are people calling him Jasta!??!?!?!

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Jun 8,2006 10:45am
i cant stand his voice.

We were from Methuen. So yeah, Boston.

toggletoggle post by OldSchool at Jun 8,2006 11:03am
YOU WERE IN ALERT!? hahahahaha. wow, that is funny. I did like the demo tape, i have it somewhere and it was pretty good. any cool old vid footage???

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jun 8,2006 11:04am
It was pretty good for the time. If there is any video footage, unfortunately, I'd be the last to know.

I'd love to have footage of the shows with Death, Sick of It All, Resurrection, Endpoint, etc.

toggletoggle post by OldSchool at Jun 8,2006 11:09am
did you guys ever play at the Thrash Warehouse in Farmington, CT? that was a place where tons of local thrash bands played. Nuclear Assault played there, Demolition Hammer, Toxik, Overkill, and tons of just local bands. It was open from 1988-1992 i think. Around 1992 a lot of hardcore bands started popping up and taking over. I know I've seen Alert play twice back in the early 90's, is this correct??? that's where i got the demo tape.

Well, we actually didn't play many thrash gigs at all. Much more with bands like Converge, Overcast, etc. I do remember we played one time in CT at this play....Old Saybrook? It was this VFW hall or something, and basically almost every band at that gig went on to become fucking massive. Snapcase, Converge, Jasta 14 (speak of the devil), and so many more....

We played two gigs in CT at this one club in New Haven and I am killing myself for not remembering the name. We played with Shift and Endpoint, Resurrection, and some other gig.

Duh, cause he's Jamaican.

Hardcore is metal's bitch. Unfortunately, it has venerial disease, so co-mingling should be discouraged.

i think it was Overcast i saw you guys then. so long ago. The one in New Haven must have been The Anthrax I bet. So yeah you guys played with mainly hardcore outfits back then. Resurrection (not to be confused with the FL Death metal band) was another band I tolerated. I bought their 7" at a show. After thrash died I got into the local hardcore scene. I wasn't very well liked at that time with long hair and a jean jacket with a bunch of thrash metal patches, that changed fast!

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jun 8,2006 11:26am
Eh, I always loved both metal and hardcore, but I probably got my first Minor Threat record years after my first metal records. Resurrection was pretty cool, I liked 108 a little better.

The Anthrax sounds familiar, but I'm not sure that was the place we played.

toggletoggle post by GoatOfCatalyst at Jun 8,2006 12:35pm
The Tune Inn was in New Haven. The Anthrax was Norwalk, closer to NY. The 108 reunion a couple months back was fucking awesome. Now I just need Dissolve to play again.

Between that and the Overcast reunions, I've been beefing up on the riboflavin quotient in my diet to facilitate time travel.

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jun 8,2006 12:36pm
The Tune Inn! That's it. You got it.

you would win becuase he cant make a fist because of that whole thumb thing

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jun 8,2006 1:15pm
Hatebreed is like a tough guy mosh metal band who tried to carry that NYHC mentality along with them but I don't consider them a real hardcore band either.

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Jun 8,2006 3:10pm
i wasnt too into Hatebreed until i gave Satisfaction is the Death of Desire a listen like 6 months back and i loved it, Perseverence is ok, but Satisfaction is the shit

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jun 8,2006 3:30pm
That's the first full-length? I've certainly heard worse.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Jun 8,2006 3:43pm
I still have the Under The Knife demo on casette. I just remember that they never showed up for shows they were booked at back in the day. There merch guys would be there selling shirts and demos and they'd no show.
