Basically this is something I've been meaning to put together, but I've changed directions a few times. Filthy roots hardcore/punk band angry lyrics with a social/political leaning. I'm going for a unique edge to the lyrics, song titles, riffs, etc, but the foundation is total oldschool. Not too metal though, this would be like the punk counterpart to Extinction Agenda.

Influences would include: Agnostic Front, Black Flag, Capitalist Casualties, (old) Corrosion of Conformity, Discharge, Doom, Dropdead, Fear, Impaled Nazarene (for attitude), Minor Threat, Motorhead, Nasum, Phobia, Ramones, Sheer Terror, (old) Sick of It All, The Misfits, and Voivod (their earlier, punk-edged sound). I'm sure I'm skipping a lot.

I will be playing guitar only, and we've got drums. We've got a practice space, recording setup, etc.

So I'm interested in hooking up with a bassist, 2nd guitarist, and angry, charismatic vocalist, all preferably 21+. It's perfectly acceptable that this would be a sort of 'serious' side project for all involved. But most of all, it's about having fun.

It seemed like a few people here might be interested, so let me know here or I setup a rudimentary MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/sieghammer

Sounds promising... Lots of good old school influences...

I want to do an oi/RAC/hatecore style project...
Angry Aryans, Aggrevated Assault, Midtown Bootboys, Combat 84, Honor...it probably wouldnt go over verywell in PC Boston.

Yeah, Siegehammer sounds fucking killer. I can't wait to hear this shit.

Damn, I should have marked this with a classifieds tag.

I have no transportation :(

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jun 8,2006 2:24pm
Imagine that. We could kick Walls of Jericho's ass six ways to Sunday.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Jun 8,2006 2:24pm
I had no idea Pam even knew who half those bands were.

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jun 8,2006 2:25pm
She doesn't? She's such a tease.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Jun 8,2006 2:27pm
Well, on closer inspection...

Agnostic Front, Black Flag, Corrosion of Conformity, Discharge, Impaled Nazarene, Minor Threat, Motorhead, Ramones, Sick of It All, The Misfits, and Voivod

I'd be hard-pressed to find someone that didn't know these dudes. I'm just surprised she likes any of them aside from Motorhead.

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jun 8,2006 2:29pm
heh, the Minor Threat influence is pretty much why Scott (the other one) wants to do the drums. He loves that band something fierce.

toggletoggle post by pam nli at Jun 8,2006 4:09pm
Rich, you clearly have no grasp of my musical spectrum.
I may tease, but give me a little credit here.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Jun 8,2006 4:11pm
I did. I said you probably did know at least half of them.

toggletoggle post by Dissector   at Jun 8,2006 4:12pm
I hope you find some members fast. This sounds promising.

Aggrevated Assault is awesome.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Jun 8,2006 4:12pm
Me too. I'm tempted to try out my damn self.

toggletoggle post by pam nli at Jun 8,2006 4:16pm
do it, Rich.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Jun 8,2006 4:17pm
Unfortunately, I'm not witty enough to write politically charged lyrics. Unless by 'politically charged' you mean 'songs about blowjobs from trannies'.

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jun 8,2006 4:18pm
I should get the songs finished first, a couple of them are almost done.

I'll probably get drums and at least a guitar tracked so prospects have something to actually listen to.

i am very interested in this...

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jun 8,2006 4:23pm
What I'll probably do is write some initial lyric ideas, then once the style is crafted then anyone else in the band can join in. My only insistence with that stuff is that the lyrics are provocative and the song titles are original (I always Google my songtitles before I decide on them). Political is good, but more from the angle of how it affects the average middle class person. Haha. Basically, hardcore.

Rich writes good lyrics though, I've read them and I am a huge jerk about lyrics.

that lyrical and vocal style are my forte'

toggletoggle post by Craig  at Jun 11,2006 6:04pm
Are Jews allowed in the band?

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jun 11,2006 6:16pm
Hahahah, it's not that kind of band (the name might be a little misleading). I realized people might take it that way. Sieghammer isn't a real word, it's an uncommon German family name that would roughly translate to 'siege hammer' and the title of the EP I am writing just means 'the majority'.

Of course Jews are allowed!
