What does that even mean? We're talking about modern racism, not slavery. Y Draig was just stating the true fact that blacks are not the only people who have ever been discriminated against, in fact, in the early 1900s, Irish, and many other groups, were treated just as bad.

Dude, did I say minorities aren't discriminated against? By the way, Irish Americans are a minority, and yes, I'm sure some people do still discriminate against the Irish. Actually, do you have any clue what has been going on in Ireland and Northern Ireland for the last 40 years or so?

here I will spew out what is going on in small detail for Herr annymonus, I pride (uh-oh a white skinned man with pride) myself in Irish Nationalism, Here is what has been going on in the last 900 or so years

You go from Viking invasions where sure many vikings were nice and intermarried but then other vikings killed whole tribes of Irish, then further down the road you have the English come in and take over part of Ireland and make Irish people tenants on their own homesoil paying rent to english noblemen, then you have the whole of Ireland coming under English law, bloody sunday and all kinds of wars, and then those English bastards fuck with Ireland by giving it back only some of the land. and thus it is why The North (the english-ruled, protestants) fight with the republic (the free, independant mostly catholics)

oh yeah don't forget about the four years of utter blight where millions died of starvation and were given no help from the British rule, nor were they given immunity from the "rent" they owed, even though there were little to no crops being grown without blight

If you want to know more about the stuggle of Ireland just read any Irish History book, "The Wars of the Irish Kings" is a good one tht goes over the viking wars, the bruce invasion, the last Irish High King ( the Ard Ri Na Heireann Brian Boru, who infact is the starter of the family line of O'Briens) ,The "English pale" , and other such struggles.

Or you can watch the history ,albeit slightly modified, in film version in movies such as "Micheal Collins", or "Gangs of New York"

or you can even listen to it in cd form. There are quite a few metal bands from Ireland who sing proudly of their history because it truly means something to them and they want to let people know about it. Bands like Cruachan, and Primordial almost completly sing about just Irish history and "Mythology" which if you have read Irish mythology you know it is a lot more fact based than other mythologies.

But the point of the post is still the same, racism blows and will always exist until ignorance is dispelled. and like smokey the bear always said, "only you can prevent retahds" Lack of a good education is what leads to racists, as well as poverty and struggle. Because everyone feels better if they have someone to blame for something.
