NEWS:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Metal Blade Records Rocks the Manatees
Metal Blade Records is getting ready to rock with the Miami Manatees for their inaugural season in the WHA2. Metal Blade Record's music will rock the fans in the seats, while the Manatee players roll over the opposing team on the ice.

As the Manatees take to the ice for opening warm-ups, they will be skating to music from Metal Blade Record's extensive roster of bands. In addition, Manatee player introductions and the goal celebration will be cheered by the fans to custom recorded music from Metal Blade Records.

"I am really excited to be involved with the Manatees and hockey in South Florida. We really feel that metal music is a great way to get fans pumped up and energized about the game." Metal Blade Records founder Brian Slagel said.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1981, Metal Blade Records hit the scene by putting out a compilation CD with music from bands such as Ratt, Black 'N' Blue, and a group that was formed by a drummer named Lars Ulrich specifically to be included on that CD. That band was called Metallica.

Over the next 21 years, Metal Blade Records signed, produced, and distributed some of the biggest up and coming names in metal music, such as Metallica, Slayer, Flotsam and Jetsam, GWAR, and many more. Branching out into other musical realms as well, Metal Blade Records scored big when their artist "The Goo Goo Dolls" had their album "A Boy Named Goo" go triple platinum in 1995.

"Brian Slagel and Metal Blade Records has been a huge supporter of minor-league hockey, and we are very excited to have him as a partner in the WHA2 and with the Miami Manatees" said Manatees GM Shawn Thorimbert.

The Miami Manatees will face off against the Lakeland Loggerheads, Jacksonville Barracudas, Orlando Seals, Alabama Slammers, and the Macon Trax beginning November 8 at Miami Arena.
Season Tickets for the Miami Manatees are now on sale. For further information, please contact the Manatees at (305) 536-PUCK (7825) or visit www.miamimanatees.com.

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER
A Message from Cory Grady:

We just recently got home from the Arch Enemy / Hate Eternal tour. Everything went great. Thanks to Derek Roddy for the use of his kit every night and the rest of Hate Eternal for making us feel welcome.

Now, on to the serious stuff... We're currently looking for a new vocalist to fill Trevor's shoes. There's an mp3 for the song "Funeral Thirst", the first track on our full length to download lower down on the page. The track has no vocals on it; it's just the music. Basically what we want anyone interested to do is download the song and record two versions with your vocals in the mix. On one version you would sing the song as it appears on 'Unhallowed' with the correct lyrics, and on the other you would have total creative control over... your own lyrics and vocal patterns. As for recording over the mp3, email me at blooddawn@hotmail.com for suggestions on how to record and send back anything you want to submit. If you have the recording process under control already, mail any hard copies to:

The Black Dahlia Murder

Oak Park, MI. 48237

*Live picture of Cory by Daniel Locke

Also, we'll take mp3s. You can instant message me (Cory) on the screen name 'grind is grind' and send me any recordings you make. The sooner we find a vocalist the better. If we like you, of course we'll want to meet up and practice and all of those things. Tell your friends! haha.

CATTLE DECAPITATION update from the band...
Greetings...

It's a ridiculous end of summer for Cattle Decapitation!

*The video shoot for TO SERVE MAN is finally just starting to come along!!! After a couple months of TOTAL BULLSHIT, our friend Russ Herpich from the band Watch Me Burn (http://www.watchmeburn.com/) has stepped up and taken over the complete delivery of the TO SERVE MAN video!!! Here is a sneak peak, just for the Institute's most esteemed culinary escatologists, some scenes from the video! Follow this link... witness the gore... http://www.watchmeburn.com/decapitation

The video should be done sometime next month while we're on tour, but such as life.... DON'T HOLD YR BREATH! Be sure to check out Russ' band Watch Me Burn! We play with them all the time and they kick serious ass.

*We almost forgot to mention to you folks, we've recently been contacted by one of the first members of Cattle Decapitation, Scott Miller!!! He originally played guitar and vocals for the band. After years of pulling off his now infamous disappearing act, he's emerged from the darkness and is doing noise/electronics for the Los Angeles based power noise industrial metal band PRODEATH! The band also features our good friend John, the artist that came up with our 2 new and quite disgusting shirts! The Long Pig Chef shirt that we'll have on tour and a 2nd putrid designs that will soon be available on http://www.accidentprone.com/! WOW! What a crazy small ass piece of shit world we live in!!! LIZZY BORDEN
A Message from Lizzy:

I just wanted to let you all know that I will personally be giving updates at least once a week from now on while we finish up the new record. We're having so much fun rehearsing and recording it feels like we just started this band a few months ago and in some ways it's not that far from the truth. The band is tighter then ever. At the moment we have our old friend Joe Steals from Diamond Dogs (the band Joey Scott and I had in the 90's) playing guitar like very few people left on the planet can, he's great live and rips on the record, I can't wait for you all to hear him. Marten Andersson is still shattering eardrums with his sub-sonic 4,8 and 12 string bass, and of course Joey Scott smashing his drums every night better then ever.

Well that's about it for now I'm sure we will have pix and all that good stuff from the show for those of you not living in L.A.
So come get some! Lizzy
