toggletoggle post by yummy at Apr 24,2006 8:28am
I have a few clones.

toggletoggle post by bloomby at Apr 24,2006 8:40am
i don't get it, people use to make fun of them, say they were horrible yet now everyone says they are awesome, the best band, this and that. i guess we should expect Aftershock and Red Tide to be playing soon as well!

i always liked Overcast back in the mid 90's but i remember there were only like 10 people at some of their shows. its ironic. maybe that wasn't their time. crazy i say

toggletoggle post by bloomby at Apr 24,2006 9:22am
oh, how was the show????

toggletoggle post by mcmahon  at Apr 24,2006 11:00am
damn.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Apr 24,2006 11:06am
I always dug Overcasts's music a lot, just hated the vocals. Remember when they were supposed to do the theme music for the Preacher show that never ended up being made?

toggletoggle post by bloomby at Apr 24,2006 11:22am
yup!!!!!

hey what kinda guitar is Pete using? And I see that other guy gained some weight and is still using that old school Charvel. I love it!!!!

i still have my Bleed into One 7" (its warped now) that was hand numbered. I wonder if i can eBay the thing, hahahaha. it don't play though.

toggletoggle post by bloomby at Apr 24,2006 11:24am
and you are right, the vocals always seemed to lack in Overcast. He is tone deaf and just doesn't know how to scream good. Same with Shadows Fall, the vocals are so off...

toggletoggle post by blue  at Apr 24,2006 4:26pm
the guitar is a custom shop first act.

toggletoggle post by bloomby at Apr 24,2006 4:48pm
wow, kinda neat looking, reminded me of a PRS. sweet. i wish i had loot to afford a guitar like that. But i guess if music is your profession you kinda have to have the sweet stuff.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 25,2006 9:10am
within the ruins: I don't know if I've seen them before. They were pretty good. I didn't care for the clean vocals in one of the songs I caught, but other than that it was completely moshable music with some death metally parts.

in dire need: joey was a xxl and the stage was a youth large so he kept falling off of it. Sound wise, this was a huge step above the last time they played here. they were a lot tighter even if they acted sloppier on the stage. the last few times I saw them, they've been in small places with crappy PAs and/or echoy churches. Last time the crowd was more all over the mic when they played too. I guess the fans weren't out early enough. Then again there was a lot more hype the last time I saw them.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 25,2006 9:16am
nerve gas tragedy: to start off, they had problems with a guitar head/cab and used the acacia strains. the crowd went crazy for them. I didn't like the vocals on the first song they played but it got better. Whenever I see them, I expect all out was, but it different though I just like seen the dude from all out war in a band. At some point during their set, I was standing infront of the non-functioning cabs on the ground and got hit hard into them. Damn I felt both really old and young at the same time when I got knocked over. They have another CD from the demo that they were handing out the last time they were around. The 3 song demo is awesome so I would love to hear the newer stuff.

they played that new all that remains track in between the bands. The drums are so nice, but the clean singing is so.. Um... fall out boy sounding.

best brian fair picture ever:

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 25,2006 9:22am
is that mr. hanky?

cannae: this was a much better crowd size and response for these guys. I think there were 2 fights during their set that led to kids getting kicked out and what is a cannae show with out someone getting booted. their set was the same one that they played last night so I'm assuming that they did in fact play their whole set last night too. This is their set from the stuff on the new CD. After their show, I picked back up their new disc. That stuff is so good. Yeah it's not trouble shooting, but it's catchy and really metal. Their set wasn't plague by God like the last show so alex was able to shred out the entire set. For their whole set I had to watch my back from kids dancing.

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Apr 25,2006 9:28am
"OH MR FAIR, PLEASE TEA-BAG ME... PLEASE!!!"

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 25,2006 9:35am
I honestly have nothing but nice things to say about brian.

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Apr 25,2006 9:42am
Brian's been cool shit everytime I've met him, really down to earth (for the most part)

so, I agree with you, I have nothing bad to say about him either, it's just the kids with the camo shirt's face that's rather amusing

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 25,2006 9:47am
agreed. kids go crazy when they see brian fair ooooooooo brain fair!

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Apr 25,2006 9:51am
so, in this shoot, are there more pictures of Brian or Blue?

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Apr 25,2006 10:07am
can he at least cut his dread locks, its disgusting. i always found him to be a bit pompous but whatever. that and he can not sing to save his life.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 26,2006 10:40am
acacia strain, the: since the last show that they played there was so big, I really expected this show to be a lot more packed and a lot more crazy for them. I mean there were a lot of people there and it was crazy, but there weren't the legions of girls that sang along to everything. maybe the puke scared them off? at the end of their set, jeff and some other jumped up on stage and sang.

Overcast: wow.. take about the way back machine. they were around when I was going from highschool into college. I remember all the hype from promotion companies about them way back in the late 90's. A lot of these songs I've been listening to for 10 years. thankfully, I get to see them again. actually for the 2nd time since their break up. the set was full of new songs! and the hope of more material from them. Are they just cashing in on the popularity of the band members other projects? Maybe, but in short who cares. they are releasing some classic material and recording some old songs that never got released. for those people that were "there" in the early days this is awesome (and not just cause your demo copy of their CD will go for $$$ on ebay). We get a new dose of a band that we liked 10 years ago. The set was stuffed with so many classic songs from them. sandiwched in their set were two new songs too. A good thing about their set is that the front of the stage all of a sudden gets really old. the average age goes from 17 to 28 and I'm suddenly not the oldest person (besides the bar owner) in the room anymore. from beginning to end, they played awesome. the drummer is a machine and those guitarists didn't miss a note. one of them was even kind enough to break the 4th wall and slide his guitar across my forehead... I'm pretty sure he was trying to make me balder. note to self: don't drag guitar strings/fret boards across your forehead again. Also, Mike D did his usual head banging while playing and brian fair swung that immense hair creature around for the entire set. I was happy (as I'm sure they were) that kids sang along to everything. Since brian had the duties of spinning his locks around, I'm sure that he loved the fact that all he had to do was stick the mic in to the crowd and people knew the words. On this saturday, they will have their last of the planned reunions at NEMHF.
