Ugh, who cares? The original Star Trek series was incredibly cheesy, and they started poisoning The Next Generation movies by appearing in an unnecessary "transition" film with both casts. TNG was an outstanding show (one of the best in the history of television), but the TNG movies sucked because they didn't stay true to the show, instead using stupid cliches and poor writing to ruin movie after movie. Just about any two part episode of TNG is a hundred times better than any of the TNG movies; that's why they bombed, and reviving the much less effective Original Star Trek characters for another movie is just asking for further distaster.
