From Blabbermouth.net:

Former DUST TO DUST and current METAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION drummer Steve Tobin has been tapped by TYPE O NEGATIVE's Peter Steele to be the drummer in Steele's new version of CARNIVORE, which is planning on playing select dates later in the year. According to Tobin, two gigs have been tentatively booked in Europe, with more to come.

Steve recently recorded an instrumental rock/prog rock CD with guitarist Mike Orlando (endorsed by Zakk Wylde), and has done numerous studio sessions in L.A., Nashville, and New York. More information on METAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION can be found at this location.

Natives of Brooklyn, N.Y., CARNIVORE spent their early years in the 1980s earning a reputation as one of the area's most dangerous bands. Crowds would stare in utter shock as these instrument-wielding warriors would take the stage clad in futuristic outfits that typified the meaning of CARNIVORE.

Dressed to the hilt in fur-covered shoulder pads, spikes, hockey equipment, nails and anything that gave them the appearance of flesh-eating monsters (photo), CARNIVORE frequently drenched the front rows of their audiences with blood, brains, and innards, provoking a maniacal reaction like frenzied sharks being taunted with buckets of chum.

Original CARNIVORE guitarist Keith Alexander (later of the short-lived PRIMAL SCREAM project) was killed in a bike accident on July 11, 2005. In addition to playing with CARNIVORE, Alexander spent a three-year stint with Dee Snider of TWISTED SISTER, touring extensively throughout North America and Scandinavia, with some audiences numbering over 20,000.

All I have to say is that if this actually happens. I'll be going to any show around this area, I don't care what it takes I want to hear an entire Carnivore set by Peter Steele.

LONG LIVE KEITH ALEXANDER!

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carnivore is the best band, ever.

hat happenned to Louie though?? I hope he's not in jail again.
I assume Mark is back on guitar? He played all the other reunion shows they did in the 90's.

I saw Carnivore 7 times from '94-'96 (even got to open for them once). They have their good nights and their bad nights. But the good nights were absolutely amazing. It'll be interesting to hear them with a different drummer. I hope they play Boston.

Well they say it's a tour, so you know what. Anyone who can book this anywhere set that up, I don't care what I have to do. I must see Carnivore before I die.

Fuckin' CARNIVORE!!!!!!! One of the best bands ever!!!!!! A huge influence on my song writing in CSDO. We played with TYPE-O-NEGATIVE back in the early 1990's when they were still doing some CARNIVORE songs in their set. I finally got to see and meet Tony and Louie (Beato) when they played at Saratoga Winners in August of 1995...... Long Live CARNIVORE!!!!!

CARNIVORE rules, been a huge fan since 1989.

I saw them in September 1995 on the reunion tour at Club Babyhead.

Looking forward to seeing them again.

What in the fuck kind of scab line up is this?? Bullshit!

CARNIVORE 2006 lineup:

Peter Steele (TYPE O NEGATIVE) - Vocals, Bass
Paul Bento (METAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION) - Guitar, Vocals
Joey Zampela (LIFE OF AGONY) - Guitar, Vocals
Steve Tobin (METAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION, ex-DUST TO DUST) - Drums, Vocals

I'm glad I saw them 7 times in the mid-90's with the Peter/Mark/Louie line up.
