i don't get it at all.... ok your straight edge thats great good for you, but you don't have to spell it out in your name....
examples...
Pat Edge
Susie Edge
xJohnxedge
then you have the name with the two step attached...
such as
xjohnnytwostepx
xTinyTomtwostepx
Cathy two step...
whats next? more hardcore names?
I'm Joeywindmill
or Carissa Spin kick
PennypickerCassy603..?
why do people do this to them self? and at shows they talk about eachother with those names... instead of saying "did you see pat tonite" they say "did you see pat edge with the mosh sweatshirt on?... i want that shirt."
or "did you see joey knock that dude out?
they would say "did you see joey do the two step and knock that dude on his non sXe ass!"
I've had this monicker for like 5 or 6 years. Back then it was the cool thing to do. Flash forward a few years and it became an akward inconvenience of having to change your screen name after everyone on the planet dropped edge. Now every time I log on with this stupid login name it reminds me of all those lame kids, and ex girlfriends who threw straightedge in everyone's face, and then made up excuses to drink.
Conversely, plenty of other kids on RTTP have names that reference bands they like. I don't see you twisting your panties over that.
my 2 favorite "edge" examples are
1) Dave Scrod who was the messiah of edge in haverhill and all the little edge kids dyed their hair blonde to be just like him. he had messed up leg and all the edge kids were a-buzz that he was so edge he refused pain medication. when they operated on his leg, he "screamed out in the canyon of pain scream". now, he's no longer edge. not by a long shot. he's on this board as "Scrodzilla" I believe.
2) Straight Edge Andy from my college who had all these edge tattoos. one of which was a bunch of edge kids on is leg jumping up for the sun. it's been more than covered up now. andy's an awesome dude and a sloppy drunk. we had this limrick that was soemthing like
"Straight edge andy
something something something
keep him away from your brandy"
