Who here thinks that $51 for a SLayer ticket is to fucking expensive? It wouldnt be as bad if they actually had good openers.Here whos touring with them this summer:

I financially calculated whether this would be worth my time. Starting with $20 for Slayer, and $10 for Mastodon. Then subtracting each $10 for Thine Eyes Bleed Mascara, Children of Queerdom, and Lamb of Moshgod.
I will pay $0.00 for this show. |

Yeah, the ticket price for Lowell is steep considering its basically 50 bucks to see Slayer, because as some of you pointed out the rest of the bands totally suck shit. Ive never missed a Slayer show in the area going back to when they first came to RI in 1986, so I wont miss them no matter what nu metal/metalcore/shit bands they bring. Its been since 1991 that Slayer had a worthy opener who actually FIT the bill. Its sad, but they obviously dont care.
Whatever....I just show up really late now for all their gigs. I'm used to it. I dont even expect them to bring anybody good anymore, so its no big deal. Its less time that I have to spend in a room with a bunch of assclowns.
Not too mention alot of those naive young metalcore chicks are so easy to get drunk and then abuse after the show hehehehehe |

Mastodon is really good live, we played with them in Indiana at the 2004 Mayday Metalfest (if you can believe it, we (Suicide Dream) played Main Stage while Mastodon played second stage).
Even for those who think some Children of Bodom stuff is a little cheesy, in my opinion, Alexi Laiho's guitarwork totally makes it worthwhile.
A few parts that Lamb of God does are cool, most of their stuff I was kind of disappointed with though, and the other band I don't know, but Slayer + Bodom + Mastodon = Good Show. Though I don't know if I want to drive over two hours to Lowell AND pay $51, I hope this is coming somewhere closer to CT. |
