I just got their new CD on Robotic Empire in the mail. Drowning Anemone with Copper Tongue.

The Gracenote tag on it actually labels it as "classical"

it's a very bizarre album but I think a lot of people into artsy-type music would dig it.

I never would have heard of them if I didn't have the same guitar teacher at my college as Greg had.

Didn't like it as much as 'Choirs of the Eye' or the Maudlin of the Well albums (or demo), but it's still quite fascinating.

kayo dot is problably the best band to come out of new england um...ever. in my opinion america as well. but i am just a fucking huge fan.

kayo dot is one of those bands that I appreciate conceptually but just sounds pretentious and long winded when I sit down and listen to them. I want to like them but just can't really care about it too much.

I think it's some quality music...I think you could dissect it and all that stuff, but that's probably where it would become stale and pretentious.

The songs/sounds are just good and different from pretty much everything else in my collection.

the reviews make them sound amazing, but all the stuff i've heard bores me to tears.

yeah, i think reading reviews about music like this are a bad idea. Every reviewer must think they can make their career sucking the dick of experimental band.


I just think it sounds neat.

I've had the new record for a while. Up to this point, I've spun it a total of 3 times and I found it to be pretty forgettable, unremarkable, etc..BUT it's definitely one of those records that at least seems like it'll get more rewarding over time so I haven't given up on it. I certainly give them credit for not trying to get popular the easy way, cheesing out and all.
