well lets hope the military spokers person isn't lying.

To help curb general fears about a draft. Read this: http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/wars/a/draft.htm

Its almost a year old, but i learned some stuff from it.

a bunch of his facts are out-dated.. it's a bit more defensive than I would like to read (straight facts is what I would want), but still a pretty good read..

yeah the article is a little dated. for example, one of the first thing that it talks about is back door draft thing, and that was in response to kerry's claim that a draft was technically already going on, which isn't really something brought up anymore.

also, they are pushing the pull back in date out farther now. my boss was out for the time that she couldn't be pulled back in, but then they changed it or something for officers. so she got a letter saying that she could be pulled back at any time.

that sucks. was your boss in out in iraq?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 27,2006 11:12am
no, she was in for 7 years... I'm not sure the time, but she didn't see active duty.

toggletoggle post by soloman   at Jan 27,2006 12:56pm
could she be pulled into active duty at anytime?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 27,2006 12:58pm
now she can, I forget what it was.. something like 7 or 11 years out and they can't pull you back, but the changed something so now they can. at least for officers. she's 39 and has 2 young kids...
