so I'm in a meeting right now at my 5-9 cubical job.

things they just told us
1) we need to work 10 hr days 6 days a week, no overtime pay
2) no vacation time for the nxt 2 1/s months
3) one day mandatory on the weekend

arg! I'm not forgoing gf/concerts... so it looks like even less sleep.

which brings me to a subject thats been on my mind

SELF CHECK OUTS in stores (do not use these ever!!)
reasons:
1. you get no discount for your purches,
2. yet the store does not have to pay for the cashier and bagger
3. they arn't having to pay benifits for said employies in #2
4. it leaves a lot of room for scumbags to jack someones credit card and use it unchecked.

if you go to a gas station(and most do this) and you use self serve the price is cheaper, yet if you use full serve you pay top price cause they are PAYING some one to do the job it only a matter of time before gas stations decide why do the discount if markets don't.

thats a good point about not getting a discount.

I work at Stop and Shop (Union job, yes!) and the E Z Scan machines, as they're called there, scan in discounts for you.

and my store doesn't have self serve checkouts. We're one of the last remaining regular (non super) stop & shops.
