Kayo Dot releases new album, hits the road
Boston "avant-metal" octet Kayo Dot's second album, "Dowsing Anemone
With Copper Tongue" (Robotic Empire), hits stores January 10.
"Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue" captures Kayo Dot's transcendent
musical vision -- a combination of doom, jazz, indie, ambient,
classical, and noise, recently described by The Washington Post as
"heavy rock as a sort of chamber music" and by Blabbermouth.net as
"mind expansion though long, unorthodox compositions". The album was
recorded at Zing Recording Studios (Killswitch Engage, Unearth),
produced by Kayo Dot composer/vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Toby
Driver, and mastered by Alan Douches (Converge, Every Time I Die).
Hot on the heels of a seven-week national tour this past fall, Kayo
Dot returns to the road this January for a string of East Coast dates,
beginning with the official record release show for "Dowsing Anemone
With Copper Tongue".
