dude, that is a MAJOR fucking find. Congrats!

Carvins were very popular in the 80's, and a neckthru/kahler trem is awesome.

Carvins are very well made guitars.
I must agree tho, that they are also ugly mofo's.
Nice find tho, especially for 2 bills!!

from what i gather, Carvin makes really nice stuff. the bassist in one of my bands has a carvin bass that looks and sounds awesome. they make nice P.A. equipment as well.

I love the shape. Uglier the better.

Watch any early 80's Jefferson Starship video and the gay-tarist is playing one of these

My brother has a carvin from the eighties that has a great feel...the pickups really need to be replaced though.

I researched it and aparantly the one I have is pretty rare. Its a '90, '91 or '92 according to the serial number. Its a rare color and its got EMGs, a Kahler tre, (which only came on Carvins in the 80's) and a REVERSE headstock from the one pictured above which was only offered in 88 and 89! I posted about it on the Carvin guitar forum to get info so I'll let you know what the good word is...

Marty Friedman use to play this axe! I think the shape kicks ass; I cant wait to start playing out again just to rock this bad boy!

I have to do some work to it before its ready to go which is part of the reason I got it so cheap. The kid asked for $400 and I was like inspecting it hardcore all over and kept pointing out shit that needed fixing (scratchy pots, loose screws, scratches etc) and got him down to $200 hah!

Pictures of the actual axe coming this afternoon...

Here are the pics!
I apologize for the quality. I had to take still shots with a digital HI8 video camera so they look like shit but you get the idea...

I took the strings off obviously and the trem is just resting in place as I removed the springs etc to clean, adjust and make repairs...
