that's a mighty big jump...

unfortunately, it's cause they did a 8 to 1 reverse slip.

slip = split

so it's still worth the same amount?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 2,2005 9:07am
yes.. it's basically "instead of 8 shares, you have 1 and it's worth 8 times as much"

now, when a company does that, do the individual stocks tend to increase in value, decrease, or stay the same?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 2,2005 9:24am
not sure... why my company, probably decrease.
we are at .3 $ to worth. (meaning if someone bought all the stock and then split up and sold the company's assets they would make a 200% profit)

most companies in our business are running at over 1.. like 1.4 to 3 (so if you bought all the stocks and tried to split up the company and sell off the assets, you would lose money)

hmmm. does that mean your company runs very efficiently?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 2,2005 9:34am
no, it means the stock community doesn't value my companies stock as much as they value other people's stock.

it's like um.....
say you have two nickels. one is from 1975 and all worn out. the other is from 1975, perfect condition, but there is a double-chin stamped on out belowed ex-pres. they are both still only worth a nickel if I try to use them, but people out there would buy the double chin one for a lot of $$.

my company is the worn out nickel that someone would barely pay $.05 for.
