I was at the Bombshelter yesterday and I saw a flyer that said that Cephalic Carnage WAS playing this Thursday at the BS. It's so fucking confusing, I have no fucking idea who we are playing with. The flyer said:

they are pretty good, but they aren't quite as good as BDM yet.

Dusk Raven does kick ass, I gotta say. By far one of the most talented bands we've had the pleasure of playing with. They are really strong in all aspects.
But.....The Black Dahlia Murder is FUCKING INSANE......They are Metal in it's PUREST form...but thats just my opinion, and we all know what we think of opinions 'round these here parts.....

I talked to Steve and Todd from eye9d Productions (they booked the show) last night (at the Madball show) and they said that if this show could draw at least 120 people that they would have more death metal / grind bands in there. But, if it didn't that they may just give up on trying to book national death / grind bands there because they aren't making enough money to pay the bands because nobody shows up.

I don't f'in know. I just hope that a ton of people show up so that we can at least have a good place to play fairly locally. I'm sick of PAL's and Legion halls. I need a beer.

Hope everybody can make it so that we don't have to play to like...2 people. That would suck, and it would be just our luck that everybody would show up as soon as we got off stage.

Am I whining?? Someone hurry up and kick me in the nuts.

dusk raven: these guys shred it up, especially why you figure how young they are. The bombshelter needs a serious PA over haul. They played a few tracks and not the slayer cover from last time. I swear the singer change the way he sings. it now sounds closer to deadwater drowning, but then again, the PA was thumbs down.

resinate: I'm not a big fan of the vocals on the older tracks, they remind me too much of gluestick's (circa 94?) first CD. Good news, the new tracks kill. The first track sounded like they mixed in a little bit of dying fetus. For the first and last tracks, the ex-back-up and drummachine player from the network sang back up. it rocked. what didn't rock was spilling water into the bass amp. During the 1st or 2nd song, the bass was sounding pretty aweful.. but I thought "maybe it's suppose to sound like that" nope. it blew.

lick golden sky: arty screamo. I'd never seen them before or even heard them at all. it was cool and very entertaining. Oddly, their set seemed to be over so quickly. It was awesome cause there were 4 wicked drunx in the front "rocking" out to something... but I'm not sure what cause they weren't in time for anything. It was also funny that the singer muttered things in to the mic at the end of the set about how we all suck dick. how did he know?

soilent green: never really been a fan of this band. I can't get into any of their cd's, but fronted by Ben Falgoust (vocalist for goatwhore), how can you not like it? They played awesome to a small crowd. It was sort of late at this point and it seems like mostly everyone had gone home, but a bunch of people came out of the drunken woodwork and rocked the front for them. I guess they have a new CD coming cause they played a bunch of new/un-named tracks. Ben's vocals are pretty killer.

oh, and the bomb shelter is the kind of place that makes you want to ask "what are you?", "why?" and/or "how are you alive?" to most of the people there. I think they need to get ventilation in there for that place to rock. by the time soilent green went on, you could cut out chunks of cancer from the air and use them for playing cards.

and I think last night gave new meaning to the term "crotch shot"

Dusk Raven: These guys were pretty good, I liked a lot of the riffs and they all played well. Smoking while singing doesn't actually look cooler than normal singing, Eddie Van Halen looked like a doofus playing with one stuck to his lip like a limp penis. All in all, cool guys, cool set, will see them again.

Resinate: Tech problem madness! The songs with duel guitar work were really good. I'm guessing the other ones weren't quite finished yet. The bass through a guitar amp made me have visions of fire. And Hoser wasn't drunk enough to make sense, silly little piss-ant nose picker.

lick golden sky: I sat in the back pushing my ear plugs in as far as I could hoping the headache they were inspiring would leave quickly before SG came on.

Soilent Green: Thats all I saw the entire set, and playing for a crowd of only 40 or so they kicked a hell of an ass. Drummer wears headphones like the guys with the glow sticks directing traffic on airport runways. They rocked and I wish more people were into them so I could've brought company to this show ~~tear~~.

The Bomb Shelter: VENTILATION. It's stuffy to the point that everything doesn't sound as good. But at least they got Billy Ray Cyrus working the sound board.

Highlights: The pretty mutt, and two people who should've been combined into one entity then evenly redispersed into two properly formed normal people. And all the dift. A lot of dirt. Dirty.
