that game is hard as hell.

ikaruga is one of the best and most looked over games ever.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 2,2005 6:08pm
you say that about every game.
let me guess, america gets no good games?

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Oct 2,2005 6:33pm edited Oct 2,2005 6:34pm
Actually we don't get a lot of the good games. But we DID get Ikaruga on the Gamecube.... (original Dreamcast version is the one most rave about).

Shmups rule, but they can be hard as hell (especially manic shmups like DoDonPachi and Armed Police Batrider).

we really dont get a lot of the great games. sorry if i happen to know this fact. while the american game industry is too busy placing Rockstar's firm boner in their mouth while taking it in the ass from Bungie and EA at the same time, the japanese market is saturated with innovative and FUN games that dont even get considered for release over here. i have not once been disappointed while playing in imported game at my friend's house. Irritating Maze for GC, Naruto 3 for GC, Puyo Puyo Fever for PS2, some awesome shmup 2p battle game for PS2... it looks girly as hell but its so fucking hard and FUN... Jump Super Stars DS, Etc Etc... i have never been disappointed. these games arent gonna make it over here and its a shame. so much fun to play. much better games than Halo 2 and GTA and NFS underground and blah blah blah... god i fucking hate this crap.

What's most impressive is that the kid was able to maintain chains for both of the ships.

imported games are awesome, but I wouldn't say they are better than games like GTA and Halo, those are great games to just different styles from the imports. I mean GTA 3 completely revolutionized the video game industry for the modern day.

Anyway, my favorite import was always Virtual Pro Wrestling 64. The Godzilla Legendary Battles(I think thats the name) for SNES was sweeet to. So much better than Super Godzilla.

But yea, overall, Japan has got the best games.

go outside

toggletoggle post by Chris_From_Shit_Fuck  at Oct 3,2005 9:12am
Ikaruga for Dreamcast was sweet tits! That game was the fucking balls.

Still waiting for a new version of Killer Instinct, and a up to date version of Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

wow your nerdy rants are embarassing your fellow humans. Yes go out side. Go bang some tang.

Japan has better games if you're looking for some mindless arcade fun.

However you're leaving out the best nation when it comes to video games, the United Kingdon. The X:Com series and all the games Bullfrog released in the mid-90s are still rad and they're also responsible for the GTA games.

I love when people tell us to 'go outside' yet they are typing on their PC to tell us that. Brilliant.

Bullfrog did indeed put out some amazing games, as have other studios in the UK, but it is no Japan, which at least for me produced well over 75% of the games I enjoy.

spaldino plays so many games that his eyes are slanting.
he also puts hearts on his i's instead of a tittle!

toggletoggle post by soloman   at Oct 3,2005 1:31pm
tittle... heh hehehhe heheh.

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Oct 3,2005 1:38pm
Spaldino and I must discuss videogaming further, as I probably have over 5000 games (real or emulated)...maybe even more than that.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Oct 3,2005 1:39pm
talent aside: that game looked really boring.

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Oct 3,2005 1:56pm
What? Ikaruga? No way, it's a pretty frantic shmup. Frustrating, but not really boring. Not as hard as some others I've played, but no walk in the park.

It's a really oldschool genre though, very little has changed with shmups since the days of like Asteroids and Defender, Gradius and R-Type except for prettier graphics and more shit going on on-screen.

i'm addicted to Katmari Damacy -- its so mindless and simple. i love it but my thumbs ache like mad after playing it. i think im too agressive with the controller.

Ikaruga SUCKED! I had that one on the Gamecube.

There are many much better 2-D space shooters than that piece of crap.

the funny thing about GTA3... is that it revolutionized gaming so much that it made it boring and almost infinitely uninspiring after that. i mean... its the same shit i was doing in the original GTA but it wasnt as fun after 3 days. you can only go so far on shock value. sure, its a lot of programming and whatnot and it is pretty impressive when you look at it in a technical aspect, but man, i would have rather read a book than play GTA: san andreas. Halo... yeah, like Golden Eye, Perfect Dark, and Timesplitters didnt do that before, but like... they are way more fun to play. its fucking sad that a game system got its booster shot int the industry because of a mediocre FPS. "ohh wow! the graphics are sooooooooooo good! *gobbles Bill Gates' cock*" gay.
