so a few nights ago shatteredliz was in town and we went out for drinks
i had an ultimate electric lemonade..ok i had 2 (she was driving)
anyhow, it said the ingredients were vodka, sweet and sour and blue curacao

anyhow..i have an extensive booze collection (which liz can vouch for) but didn't have sweet and sour...so i went to the booze store and started talknig to the lady who worked there asking her if she knew what sweet and sour was...she started looking through books and all, so nice and helpful...she wasn't sure what it was...eventually she asked another man and he said he thought it was a mixer..sorta like sour mix...so i said ok and i continued shopping..i grabbed some good tequila (60$ bottle) and a $10 bottle of midori (not something we usually drink so i got a smaller bottle)..i never leave there spending les than $100..so i kept looknig and the lady came back and showed me a $10 bottle of puckers tropical shnapps "sweet and sour"...so i told her i'd give it a shot...i got to the register and she rang up the $10 bottles and then the $60 one...then looked at me and deleted it...and smiled at me and said $19.96..
i gave her my credit card and wasn't sure what was going on...

why did she give it to me for free..then another customer was behind me and i didn't want to say anything...it was like she did it on purpose...

what would you have done?

I would have taken it home and drank it, smiling because of my good fortune.

ok..well i took it home and tried making myself an ultimate electric lemonade...i should have used a smaller glass..because now i have a bowl of it but it doesn't taste 100% the same..

oh and after i walked to hannaford and i found sour mix...i think that's it

yeah you want sweet and sour mix...it is a mixer, no alcohol. the puckers stuff is not good. it's like a liquified jolly rancher...plus frat girls drink that crap, so...gross. anyway you should be able to find sweet and sour mix next to bloody mary mix, mai tai, strawberry daquiri, that section. Mr and Mrs T make one...the stuff thay use in the bar comes in a bottle that almost looks like a milk jug...i dunno if there's a People's Liquor Warehouse near you, but they always have that stuff. prices aren't fantastic, but they have everything.

you can buy sour mix at most grocery stores, you don't need to go to a liquor store.

As for amounts, it depends on the sour mix. Some seem stronger than others. I used to have a good recipe for midori sours, but one day the store stopped carrying my usual brand of mix, and I had to buy another. I used the same recipe, and all you could taste is the mixer.

Just guessing, I'd try doing 1 shot of the curaco, one shot of vodka, and two of the sour mix. Taste it, and make adjustments from there.
