There must be a leet hackzor somewhere up for the challenge.

For: Altec Lansing ASC 495 speakers' USB interface.
Have: old driver that work with Win95/98/ME.
Need: driver that will work under WinXP. Altec "doesn't plan on making updated drivers" for these.

If anyone thinks they can help, or knows a better place I could ask for help, let me know. Thanks.

Altecs that don't work properly anymore. If I could just get the sub working alone I'd be happy, but no such luck yet.

that's odd that they don't work properly, 90% of USB devices that had drivers in 95/98/ME were plug-n-pray in XP... If you were looking for Linux Drivers, I could help you there, I've written those before, I've never attempted to write a driver for Winblows.

Tried all that, only found more people in the same situation as me, many of whom are hoping someone with the know how could update the driver himself. Thanks though.
