i would just like to remind everyone how fucking awesome this band is. i just got Bergtatt, and was looking through allmusic.com to see what i should get next when i came across this:

Madrigal of the Night is so awesome. The atmoshpere in that album gives me goosebumps.

the samples i heard from the new one are fucking awesome. the new video is cool too.

has anyone seen that movie that Ulver did the sound track for? Lycantropen? it's a pretty cool movie. and there's an interview with Ulver in the bonus features section.

Which of their albums are black emtal? I only heard one and I heard there are a couple of other black metal ones.

Teaching Silence was the soundtrack to my insanity for the past 3 weeks.

Bergtatt(folky bm) and Nattens Madrigal(raw darkthrone-style bm) are their two black metal albums, there's also a demo and a split with Mysticum that are black metal.

I'll check out Mergtatt then.

But seriously look into Kveldssanger, their folk album, it's really fucking good.

Ulver never fails. Seriously.
And I'm pretty sure that I've heard Madrigal was recorded in a Norwegian castle..

Ulver is awesome. I highly recommend Encrimson'd as well, total Nattens Madrigal worship with a little folky twist, they're on myspace, i don't know the url but the ABHORRED DISTRO HAS CDS AVAILABLE FOR $5.
