I just saw on tv, the average person can hold their breath for 30 seconds.
I found this kinda short, so I tested myself.

1:11 before I started feeling really uncomfortable, and prolly coulda gone another 10 secs or so in a life/death situation.

I have a little ticking clock in the same room with me, and I find it hard to hold it for a long time having to listen to only that. 56 seconds in the room with the clock - 1:19 without. Weird how that works. Also I smoke, and had asthma as a kid.
