New site? Maybe some day.
|
Holy shit who's playing the violin? and some of the photos actually are marginally bitchin' |
|
seeing as I fancy myself as some sort of photographer person...
1) your flash is blowing out your images. turn down your flash. though this could be from your focusing too... but I would definitely say tone it down a notch or two.
2) I thought from the rob-teratism that you were shooting film... but I guess you are just shooting with a digital (looking at the other images). I would suggest turning down or off the color saturation unless you are in a warm color enviroment. I think you camera is bumping up the punch of greens and blues. this could also be high saturation with some weird white balance, I quess... though your white look fine.
3) learn how to post process in photoshop (something I'm learning now)
besides that have fun learning.

Some of those are pretty sweet pics. That violinist looks EXACTLY like my buddy Jon from Inheritance. Its scary really. |
|
dude, your DitK pics FUCKING RULE!!! thanks for shooting them! Alex is gonna be stoked!!!
HOLY SHIT!!! |
|
andy is a ridiculous fiddle player. that kid is so good. |
|
fiddle till fucking death
Andy loves the Co-Ku |
|
I wish I could have stayed for DitK, I borrowed the CD from Dan, they're fucking awsome!!!
Your pics are great, I do agree with Aaron, your flash is totally blowing out the pictures (hence why skin tones are poreclin white) you can fix this by either:
A.) Turning down the flash (like aaron suggested)
B.) Change the F-Stop you're using, to allow less light through the lens
As far as post processing (this goes to both you AND Aaron) if you have questions, I've got answers, I work for a School Portraits company doing photo editing / post processing / retouching.
other then your pictures being blown out, you've got some great shots here, keep up the good work man! |
|
Yeah, the pictures are really bright, but really good! I would say you have some talent.
I love that picture of Brian! |
|
Yah, my brightness has been the object of frustration. I've been trying to figure out how to turn my flash down, but I dunst really know. I actually take pictures with a film camera. Maybe the little auto contrast and level adjustments the software I use throwed you off. If people want more pictures for their bands or something I could post them, or you could AIM me at LizardSkinBusko |
|
Yeah I was just thinking a little over bright, but they are good shots. Lots of chaos. |
|
if it's film... how do the prints look?
are they over blown?
I tried to touch them up in photoshop... but you would need to do a little more that I was willing to do to make the over blown parts clearer. |
|
Slightly less blown in the prints. But I have a messed up monitor, that is overly bright, and if I try and adjust it, it shuts off...so they are probably the same on screen. |
