well I just got off the phone with serge...he wants each band to sell a MINIMUM of 40 tickets, or you pay to play it. He's got two other what sound to be nu-metal bands in mind, and CANDY STRIPER DEATH ORGY....

I told him I was hesitant, because cryptopsy is playing metalfest the next day and he said don't worry about it I have 2 other bands. So fuck it... I'm not going to pay to play a show, we work our asses off enough. We've played there almost 5 times now and never asked for a dime (or got a dime) for playing, and clearly at the halloween show, drew more heads than CSDO.

He never mentioned the pay to play thing, I think that was a mis-understanding or something, no band has ever had to pay to play,but selling the tickets ,guarantees you get some money in return,he can't pay bands outta pocket if, there is no money at the door to so...

yeah, bringing people is one thing...getting them to buy a ticket is another thing. I'm not doubting that we could get 40 people in there.

He didn't even know who I was...even when I told him we played the halloween show, he kept mentioning some other band that none of us were in. So I dunno todd, I told we were down and then he basically passed us up when I said I was hesitant about it being metalfest weekend.

dude, that's gotta be bull, we got paid $110 to play milly's tavern and we opened the god damn show.

ps. I didn't expect to get paid at all, and I don't care about getting paid that much, except maybe gas money.

I will be in the front for this banging my fucking head off reciting the lyrics with the Lord. I expect to earn a worm for this. bombshelter and palladium always draw kids who are like that.

all i serge is saying, is he needs a gaurenteed sale of 40 tickets, if you can't sell 40 tickets then you can't play. so what does that mean, i would assume that you would have buy them. if it's all gay bands then i guess we won't play either! i honestly don't even give a fuck. i strongly suggested a number of bands to serge, if he books shit bands then thats his loss. you can't say i didn't try.

yeah if you want to spend 35 bucks and deal with all the 14 year old retarted kids and no be able to smoke. i hate the palladium. cryptopsy and like 2 other bands are the only good bands playing imho. why spend 35 bucks to sit through all the other gay assed metalcore/hardcore bands. i don't know man, i think it's good to get big bands in the bs, if it's a good turnout, then he'll do it more often. but i have had faith in the scene and getting big shows with good turnouts there before and saw it not work. maybe the bombshelter isn't the place for metal? i don't know. i like the place and i like serge, am i the only one?
fuck it! it's basically the scenes call...if no one is going to this, then save serge the loss and let him know. i'll play the show, and if i don't it's not a big deal.

he won't get as good of a turnout if he keeps putting CSDO on every metal bill he has there.

what big metal shows are yout talking about dan? BDM/Severed Savior/CC did pretty well there despite csdo being on it. Shadows Fall was also packed.... I don't think serge should book a band that he's paying 2300 for and doesn't have faith that they can draw enough people on their own. It's lame for the local bands to have to do all the work. Of course some nu-metal band will easily be able to sell 70 tickets because there are tons of fags out there who listen to it.

who buys tickets anyways? I just friggen go to shows and pay at the door. Way easier.

Things most people HATE about the bombshelter:
-It's a freaking smoke factory
-No ventilation in the summer
-The barricade
-CSDO automatically on every death metal show

I personally like the place, but I think it could improve in those areas.

big shows like metal nation, mortician, the blood letting tour. shows that one would assume that the scene would support. i'm not blaming anyone, i would just like to see a club in nh that has all ages shows. and i for one, as a smoker like the fact that there is at least one club left that i can smoke in.
indeed it could improve in a lot of ways. but the kids have to support the metal shows he has there, and for that to happen, he has to book at least death metal bands to support the death metal acts coming in off tour..and i agree with csdo. i am not bashing here, just don't think that after the whole menazery they should be on this.
