i totally fucking need a drummer (or at the very least... someone who is really good at programming drums) and a guitar player and a synth player. i cant fucking stand this. i need to remix most of the soundtrack to Gradius 3 and a Gradius 2 song. its not going to be an actual band... just a project to get like 20 minutes of awesome game music remixed. i have a good studio to record it at and everything. anyone that is interested contact me somehow. im not that hard to get a hold as i always have my cell phone on me.

email me at spalding138@yahoo.com

i realize that im toally alone in my vision of recreating some kick ass game music but i figure that its worth a shot.

it was pretty hard to get everyone gathered and that was for more of an actual band... im just looking for a studio project.

my guitarist's roommate is doing a video game band. i haven't heard it yet, but it might be similar to what you are doing and i am not sure if he has a full band. i'll find out.

this band is sick. 10 times better than 90% of the bands on this site. and the production is great.

yeah, they kick ass

chris' bio isn't up yet, but he's in the band...his arrangement of "Decisive Battle" from Final Fantasy VI will kill people

yes! this band is awesome. all of the songs on that site are ones i wanted to sometime in my life. but for this, i just want to focus on Gradius music.

the power rangers song is awesome... but the rest of the songs are ok. the bass player needs to step it up a little bit in terms of speed. and some of the riffs arent timed right... i mean, i guess its done on purpose, but it takes away from the awesomeness that this band could have. or amybe im just a super fucking picky VG music lover. shrug. oh... and for Wily's theme... i dont hear any bass at all. i can play that song.... the whole way through... gallops and all.

www.nintendometal.com

these guys do the whole re-arranging thing the best. (well... not counting the official re-arranged soundtracks that the game companies put out). check out their sample of the The Legend of Zelda theme. so fucking good.

I think this is a really cool idea, and I would be interested in participating.

I know you already are a bass player, but maybe you might have use of another (or we could just use an envelope filter or some effect to get a "synth" sound out of an electric bass).

If it matters at all, i.e. if you're going to be transcribing this music, I can read/write music and have a decent ear.

Let me know if you're interested:

do you guys have winamp? i can send you the links for the RSN plugin and you can hear the music i want to cover. gradius 3 music is epic and rules... some of the bass is really really fast and will take me a little bit to get used to playing as that i havent played bass much at all lately... but i could do it.
