i've noticed that most of you guys is standards are far to high when it comes to playing shows. the way i look at it... a show is not only a way to promote your music to others but it should also be fun no matter what the circumstances are. if you are booked with shitty bands then hell, your band is gonna sound the best - so who fuckin cares? if you are booked at a shitty club with awful sound - your music and live show should make up for it. just my opinion - feel free to tear it apart with negative feedback. |

I think though, if you play with shitty bands, people are not as likely to go see just you... and plus you will become associated with those shitty bands and people who might ordinarily like your band won't bother to check it out... |

wtf are you talking about? all those gaywads on the WAAF board are the one's who condemn small clubs to play at and bash our bands because we've played there. (Choppin Block, Basement shows, ect)
as far as shitty bands you play with, yeah it happens every once in a while, no big deal to me. I'd rather not go out of my way to play an entire bill of nu-metal bands though...unless it was a. close, and b. gas money was involved. |

i wouldnt want to have my band be associated with a person like that. if someone decides that my band sucks for playing with shit band ... then fuck that person. if i can play a show and at least one new person comes up to me afterwards to tell me that my music has affected them positively - then its worth it... everytime. period.

and as far as the clubs that are subpar ... the only one i really had a problem with was the Chopping block because finding a place to park was a fucking nightmare... plus i hate driving through boston. |

I think it would be stronger if more people would actually GO to shows
I have been to sick ass shows where there was a very scant number of people, and that has more to do with weakness than people not wanting to go to a show with a weak and inconsistent bill of bands

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't go to any show wretched asylum was playing. Paganmegan is right. You can't expect people who like good metal to travel and pay for metal shows if only one out of 5 bands is good. |
