Ross is one of those aforementioned "geniuses" that got completely overlooked in that Phoenix "basement shows" article.

the guy has done more for boston than people know. He opened Re:Generation, boston's FIRST and ONLY DIY owned show space, owned and operated by bands and people from around town. it got shutdown because of a "technicality" that was an obvious "ousting" during the time when boston shutdown the Berwick for shows and that artist's space in the financial district.

that said, hopefully Ross will do the right thing with this space.

Sue Blanks owns the lease. She is a tatto artist and works out of... I forget where. She was also in on Re:Gen I with Ross.

I got some stuff there when I stumbled across it by accident

yeah it's mostly a punk/hc joint as a FRONT for doing shows (smart, no?) but maybe he'll do some metal hoedowns.

This should be a fucking cue to all you hessians to start your own fucking thing like Ross did. All Ages Metal shows in beantown ARE possible, just be fucking creative.

aren't you the one who can't find a show for Clitorture? Why don't you be creative instead of telling everyone else what to do?

i am being creative.

I got them 2 other shows. MA is a tuff business these days, as I'm sure you will admit.

besides what i lack is collateral.

I have found some neat spaces if anyone has the bling to invest.

Yeah but you said in beantown, i am playing devil's advocate. how do you expect anyone to do what nobody else has been able to? did you think all the rest of us who book shows havent thought about how good an all ages venue would be for metal?

toggletoggle post by KeithMutiny  at Nov 15,2004 11:24pm
i thought after that girl got fucked up at the greek american club, back in like 99 at the patriot and last Trouble show, boston and cambridge banned all ages shows...

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at Nov 15,2004 11:25pm
well, I just thought people lacked initiative, not creativity.

I know you and Jess and Anne have been working on stuff.

But you know the drill, Joe, it's people leaving the work to everyone else that bogs stuff down sometmes.

and I whole-heartedly agree i could be doing more. I'm just a broke motherfucker...maybe this week I will go look at some spaces I have had my eye on.

The Legend of McCarthy

If everyone was trying to book shows then things would be a mess, because there would be just way too many shows. There are already too many bands, too many shows would make matter worse.

hahaha, that was the 1st and 2nd church, i was standing next to him when he jumped

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at Nov 15,2004 11:29pm
maybe we should nuke em all?

or better yet...

toggletoggle post by KeithMutiny  at Nov 15,2004 11:31pm

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at Nov 15,2004 11:32pm

Anne has an all ages venue and does her thing, I don't really think she is planning on expanding on what she does show wise that much. I have no idea what Jess is planning. I was talking more about Brian Morse and me when we meet up and brainstorm.

Fuck all ages shows. Little kids don't need to see Metal!

toggletoggle post by armageddonday   at Nov 16,2004 3:50pm
Joe, I actually would expand if I could get a bigger venue in PVD, I'd stilllike to bring national tours in town, I just refuse to do a 18 or 21 plus show. That's it. So if there's no all ages venue available I'll pass on the show.
