New site? Maybe some day.
|
You should also consider the following bands for gigs you are booking because these bands don't often get shows outside of Boston and I think some of them would definately be into playing in other areas of New England in the future:
Kevorkian's Angels
Phantom Limb
Raising Kubrick
Abhorred
Hirudinea
Gut
Bane of Existence
Teratism
Dissector
Noosebomb
Sincerely,
Joe |

in order
1) sounds good, will do
2) check!
3) check!
4) check!
5) sounds good
6) don't know them, need more info
7) I'd like to hear more recorded stuff, but I'm the kind of person that likes to help out a band if they need it, so if BoE needs something, let me know.
8) double check!!
9) Need to hear them
10) Need to hear them
voila!
sounds good = will see what i can do. check = way ahead of you on that one |

Well, I was merely stating that now there seems to be more people booking shows, and the bands I listed play in Boston no problem, but rarely anywhere else. Those bands are friends of mine, and I am a big fan of them all as well and I think they deserve a fair chance to play at other places. |
|
GUT needs to change their name, there is already a legendary goregrind band with that name.
They should go with GUNT.
|
|
I don't handle booking for all of these bands, just the ones on my label, but I can easily pass on information for any of them. Dissector has a demo out, I am not sure if they have mp3s up anywhere. Noosebomb - http://www.shiftyrecords.com
I am getting the impression that because these bands can get shows in Boston they are being overlooked by people who book shows everywhere else and thats not really fair as bands from everywhere else are getting shows in Boston on top of everywhere else. I am not even talking about them doing show swapping, most those bands do not set up their own shows. These are just great bands that people should take more seriously.
Add ASCENDANCY to the list.

Or Mass Gut? Shut up Dwyer. That other band is obscure and foreign. |

I second that motion.
Also here are bands that I have worked with that are very good, and would appreciate what you can get them. The help flyer, and tell friends about the gigs, and some of them even bring mad peeps:
Pray For A Plague - NH
Shaniqua & The Skullfuckers - NH
Faith In Chaos (member of S&SF) - NH
Jack Van Impe Presents (members of S&SF) - NH
The Polemic - CT
xnodicex - Billerica, MA
|
|
yes...it's cool when local bands play out of state...
mixing it up is awesome
although i don't think i'll ever book another show...too many bands to choose from |
|
I am just getting the impression that with everyone being so pro-active lately that the 11 bands I named are being overlooked by everyone but me. |
|
I agree, that's why everyone should go to this show and help support underground metal!!!
also this show has requested the presence of Abhorred who will let me know if they can do it come monday.
We're also working on a RK show in Worcester, and trying to pair them up with Mucopus on a weekend in Nov/Dec. |
|
I don't think Abhorred can do that show, but don't quote me on that. |

Cryptic Warning definitely needs more shows around NE to promote their upcoming album- "Sanity's Aberration."

Sacreligion simply needs more shows with bands that don't suck ass...don't get me wrong we've met some talented people but almost every band we've played with sucks horribly(like today...some of the worst crap i've ever heard for a period of 3-4 hours) |

The Polemic - CT
|
they have a demo coming out soon that was recorded by me... so check that shit out too. I just have to mix it.
|
|
The Polemic are three of the nicest guys in CT.
and the music is pretty crazy. |
|
I will personally make and send out a mixed CD with songs from:
Kevorkian's Angels
Phantom Limb
Raising Kubrick
Abhorred
Hirudinea
Gut
Bane of Existence
Teratism
Dissector
Noosebomb
Ascendancy
Cryptic Warning
Conifer
To people who I know for a fact are booking shows, to have them consider these bands for gigs outside of Boston. |
|
Theres a lot more bands that get overlooked by other areas than you think..... |
|
There definately are, but these bands are my boys, yo. |
|
That's a good idea with the mix cd. I have to wonder though, how many people on average do these bands send cd's too and email relentlessly? We have trouble with the surrounding areas too. It's fucking tough. I've found that NE is really hard to get shows in unless you have (cool label of the week) listed after your name. |
|
I am not too concerned with Rhode Island, because Anne and I are practically best friends these days, and she loves all my bands on top of that. New Hampshire and Western MA is my main concern really.
I will toss on a song from RAOV and Attacking Frequencies if you guys want, that would round off the entire length of the CD more or less. I would print out a simple inlay with just band name, song name, and email contact and website.

in other words i don't like em but if they ask i may throw em a bone |
|
fuck it man, sounds good. we're recording this weekend. |
|
Cool, I will probably throw all the band names into a hat and draw the order out that way. It's not really a compilation per se, but I will probably listen to this CD myself from time to time. |
|
baneofexistence said: in other words i don't like em but if they ask i may throw em a bone |
hahahahah there's no accounting for taste, you know? but i think you guys work hard and I think you make music you really like and that other people seem to like. That said, I wouldn't turn you down if you needed a show and I was doing one, and if you need to find a show or write me asking about one I'll see what i can do for you.
I've often not liked music and then gotten into it later, so maybe that will happen with you guys -- it happened with me and Dystopia. |
|
i kinda figured it was somthing like that when i started seing the
attn: (insert band name here) threads offering shows popping up from you
what ever we don't care were all bookd for oct and after that were not gonna really play till march probly
|
|
perhaps I will go check you out at one of those shows, and maybe I'll like it a lot more. |
|
PS - why are you on hiatus till March?
PPS - I hope I don't sound insulting or anything. I don't intend to at all. I'd feel like a cheat if I was like BOE BOE OMG I LOVE THEM if I didn't really feel that way, and if you guys grow on em I'd be vocal about that too. This way you know I'm not going to bullshit you and lie and say I like something I don't, but I am also not the kind of guy that is he doesn't like something, won't go near it. I want to like everything I hear, just something I don't, which is part of being human. Again, no accounting for taste. |
|
ps = to write new stuff and get our new guitarist more intergrated into the songs with second guitar parts and stuff
pps = no biggie it's not like we really care either way, people either like us or don't BOE always said from day one as long as we like what we are doing we don't care what others think |
|
I still have yet to hear you guys with the second guitarist. Must be sweet. |
|
yea it's pretty cool indeed it's gona make the new stuff interesting and breath new life into the older songs too i think |
|
That mixed cd idea is pretty cool. You're so smart Joe tehehehe (curls hair, plays with gum) |
