I am listening to CONVERGE - Jane Doe for the 1st time and I am not impressed at all.

This is like the dictionary definition of 'Metalcore' - isn't it?

I am glad somebody let me borrow this to hear and I didn't shell out any cash for it.

listen a few times it is a great album, it takes a bit to adjust to but once you do it will grab your attention, you shouldnt be disapointed. On the other hand it is a band that you love or hate, there doesnt seem to be too much middle ground with them. I adore everything they have ever done.

its a decent album. Not a fan of the recording, something about that guitar tone. Some kick ass songs on there though.

that cd wasn't that good, imho.
the new cd blows it away.
petitioning the empty sky was my fav.

jane doe is the farthest thing from metalcore. its way more of a crust/hardcore/grind album. i love everything theyve ever done.

I only like generic-ass death metal with dungeons and dragons fantasy lyrics that's been done six billion times. my computer is my only friend.

Whats up with all the CORE shit. Death core, grindcore,metalcore, emocore, crustcore.
The only core thing im familar with is grindcore= old carcass, napalm etc. stuff like that, i dont know what is considered grindcore these days. When i listen to S.C.Decompostion they sound worthy of the GRINDCORE name. Whats next "southern rap/metal country CORE".

I hate metalcore but I like Jane Doe quite a bit. Probably the only band that has anything to do with the genre that I enjoy.

Converge is definately metalcore, there is nothing crust about them.
