Peter Dinklage and Charles Dance are fucking fantastic actors too. I definitely felt like the show was pandering to nu vogue fantasy cliches at most points as it always has, but having not read/don't plan on reading the books, and considering that it's the only decent mature fantasy show around with no commercials, I don't give a fuck. Actors performances usually make up for any plot/adaptation failures (usually the case on any show)
