I've owned 3 Iron Cobras:
-I bought the first one new, and broke it in a year and a half.
-I used the warranty and got a 2nd new one.. which also broke within two years.
-I then found a "like new" Iron Cobra on EBAY, bought it... and broke it within a year.
-I then used parts from all three to make frankenpedal, which lasted roughly another year.
(keep in mind, that when the first one broke, i tried replacing parts, but found out the warranty would be free, so i just did that and kept the old one for parts. When THAT one broke, i replaced the crossbar that connects the slave to the master, and then broke the joints that connect that bar to the actual pedals. That's when i found the cheap used one on EBAY.)

-Then i switched to DW9000's, (which i still use for Useful Idiot) which I have broken, fix'd, sold, and re-bought a different pair. I originally sold them 'cause i figured i would just adjust the AXIS that I bought for both my bands, but soon found out that I didn't like having to fine tune all of the adjustments on the Axis before and after every U.I. practice, so i purchased MikeMENSTRUAL's set of DW9000's... which i'm still using for U.I.

The AXIS pedals have also broken... twice... but both times AXIS overnighted me the parts for free under warranty. I have broken the EKITS a couple times too, but we're not really comparing those in this thread.

I've also owned one pearl eliminator, and one gibraltar pedal. Both were adequate, and i broke both... i just didn't like either of them enough to try to fix them instead of replacing them with a different pedal.

Just so i'm totally clear, the EXACT SAME thing has happened to every pedal i've owned. The "ball" joint that connects the crossbar to both the slave and the master has broken. It makes sense, i think because you almost ALWAYS have the slave pedal at a slightly different angle than the master, that puts a LOT of the energy of every hit on that joint. Which if you play enough, will break no matter what pedal you get.

I guess what i'm trying to say is.. they ALL break. It's just a matter of which pedals you like using.
