How to Perform a Ritual of Visualization of Intent

Perform a Ritual of Visualization of Intent
User-Submitted Article

It all begins in the mind: this is what everybody keeps reminding us. Well, let us visualize our intent, then. This ritual, which takes as long or as short as you would like, would help you focus your energies into one fervent image of just one fervent wish or desire that you have. For example, for the purposes of our discussion, let's say that your desire is to visualize the intent of meeting your soul mate soon. But it could be anything: getting that dream job, obtaining a raise, conceiving a child or paying off a loan!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:
Materials to represent Fire, Earth, Air and Water
Writing materials
A space free of clutter and people
Serenity of emotions
An attitude of gratitude

1- Gather materials to represent Fire, Earth, Air and Water. For example, lighted candles can represent fire. Choose the number of candles that have some significance for you, like 9 votive candles since 9 is the number of the planet Mars, according to astrologer Linda Goodman. Mars is the planet of swift action, so if you want swift action in the case you are visualizing, 9 is the way to go. Again, this is just an example. You may have your own significant or favorite number that makes more sense to you. The important thing is that the number makes personal sense to you alone. For the element of Earth, you can get a pinch of soil or pluck a fresh flower from your garden. Be creative in gathering a symbol for each of the four elements and bring them all to the place where you will not be disturbed.

2- Gather your writing materials. As you meditate later, you will receive vivid images that you will then write down uninterrupted, uncensored, with no erasures and hesitations whatsoever. Writing is the closest thing we have to the reality of our thoughts. Writing is the first step to concretizing our thoughts in the material plane. Therefore, it is important that the color of your paper symbolizes faith, hope, and/or strong belief to you personally. To me, this color is either yellow or gold. The color of your writing tool must signify fast action. To me, the color of this writing tool must therefore be red. But then again, you will decide on the color scheme that symbolizes the abovementioned qualities (hope and fast action) to you!

3- Find a space that is free of clutter and people. Draw an imaginary circle of protective white light around you.

4- Light the candles. Begin with this chant firmly as you linger on the materials you gathered to represent each element: " I am born of fire, I am blessed by fire. I am born of air, I am blessed by air. I am born of water, I am blessed by water. I am born of the earth, I am blessed by the earth. So I image, so let it be."

5- Close your eyes, concentrate and breathe deeply for a couple of times. Let your emotions be serene and let your intuition guide you freely. When the images become clear in your mind, take your writing materials and write down or describe the image that you see in your mind. Make sure that you write nonstop with no hesitations or erasures. For example, in the "meeting my soul mate" intent we used as an example for the purposes of this article, as you image it in your mind, you can write down something like: "I am blessed because my man is by my side. I have abundance in my heart. I see him walking beside me by the lake. We are holding hands and looking into each other's eyes. He pulls me closer to him and he kisses me tenderly. He tells me simply that he loves me and that he has been waiting for me all his life..." Note that everything is written in the present tense. It is as if everything is happening right now.

6- After you are done with your writing, fold your paper into the number of times which to you symbolizes fast action. Then keep it in a place where it will be undisturbed for a long time.

7- Forget about the ritual you have just done. Let faith take over and let the Elements and the Universe do their work. Trust that everything is in the process of becoming!
